I don't know this guy personally, but he lives near me, and we know some of the same people.

Knuckle Junkies just wrote an article about him that is a good read. I like the part where he mentions the other patients he meets at chemo. It's easy to feel sorry for yourself, until you meet a little kid with a brain tumor, and that will give a new perspective to anyone, no matter how bad your luck seems.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Updates from facebook - AJ ended his chemo four weeks ago. The doctors told him his health would take a while to recover, and he would certainly never fight again. He nodded his head in agreement, and then went straight to the gym to get back to training. He competed in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament this past weekend and took third in the blue belt division. He won two matches and lost one. He's p!ssed that he didn't do better. His motivation and attitude are very impressive to me.
