Before I get into the actual tip, take a brief assessment. Rate yourself in each category on a scale from 1-10, and at the end, add your scores together for a total from 3 categories.
M: Motivation - Rate your motivation to improve your life on a scale of 1-10. 10 would mean you are constantly looking for ways to better yourself, and upon finding that way, you pursue it. 5 would mean you occasionally pursue improvement but often times are content or simply too lazy to improve. This rating should reflect ACTION.
I: Importance - Rate your importance to this world. Ignore everything you have read but take into account everything you believe. How important do you feel you are? 10 would mean your loss would have a devastating affect on almost everyone you have known during your lifetime. Some people will be unable to function without you. 5 would mean you are not very important and your loss would be handled as any other loss would. Don't get this category confused with fame. This rating should reflect RELEVANCE.
P: Potential - Rate your potential to accomplish goals, tasks, or everyday things. A 10 does not mean you can fly, but means you are capable of anything you should choose to put your mind to. This rating does not necessarily mean you have accomplished certain things, but that you could accomplish them if you decided to. This rating should reflect CAPABILITY.
Now, the answer key! Match your scores up with the key.
30 or above: A successful, complete, and well-rounded man.
ANYTHING ELSE: THIS DOESN'T CUT IT!
Did I trick you?
My post is designed for anybody to read. From Pook to someone who has never visited this site before, my post should be 100% comprehendible. (Not using the usual acronyms like C&F, HB10, etc.)
Going back to your results, write your results on a small piece of paper and tape it to your desk. It should look something like 9 + 7 + 8 = 24, or whatever your respective scores were. The goal here is to get that paper to read 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 by the end of the week - or better yet - by the end of this post.

"Well, Incog, I expect Bill Gates would achieve a MIP rating of 30, but not me. Look what he's done as opposed to what I've done."
Success is not measured in fame, money, how hot your wife is, or power. Don't get me wrong - it certain does reflect in those 4 aspects. But it is not exclusive to those 4 things. You can be a successful person without fame, without riches, without a perfect wife, and without an enormous amount of power. Success is measured by how content you are with your life, your MIP, and your accomplishments. Success is knowing you spent your life in your own way, and although you encountered bumps on the road, you rolled right over them. If we live life to please others, we are not individually successful!
"I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure--which is: Try to please everybody." - Herbert Bayard Swope
Bill Gates and Oprah popped into this world out of their mother just like you did. Their umbilical cords were cut shortly after just as yours was, symbolizing the independence that must start at birth. Bill Gates, Oprah, Kobe Bryant - they all have bad gas some nights. They take massive dumps. Their 16 hours go by however they so choose but at the end of the night they're just like you and I. You, YES, YOU are capable of doing amazing things that you have NO IDEA and you can't even BEGIN to grasp until you start realizing your great potential (and acting on it).
Here is a diagram of motivation and potential that I made:
Now take a close look at this diagram. For starters, there is no solid line to box in "Potential." That is because it is assumed that the potential box is simply as "large" as the motivation one. The diagram shows an average man and how small his "motivation" box is in comparison to what we see his potential is. On the other hand, we see a successful man's motivation is much closer to his potential and is using much more of his capabilities. I hope none of you are able to make an image of your motivation and potential, though. Why? Because it shouldn't be able to be measured in a rectangle. It should extend far beyond into 3 dimensions and way past my computer screen!
You are as important to society as you want to be. It ties in with motivation. Those are 2 factors completely under your control. Potential isn't necessarily under your control because yours is endless. Make yourself get out there and accomplish your goals. Your positive mindset will reflect on others and will change you. Here is a quote from a member of these forums that stands out and ties in with my post:

Improve your quality of life NOW by realizing that you can accomplish absolutely amazing things. I don't care what you look like right now, what situation you are in, or who you are with; you have the power to change yourself for the better and to change others for the better.
"Men do less than they ought, unless they do all they can." - Thomas Carlyle
Naturally, your quality of life will shine like a bright beam of light onto others. Why would anybody like you if you don't yourself? Start from the inside out.
Don't let these people telling you that if you are not physically attractive that you can't do things in life. Yes, our society has been brainwashed to worship physical attraction. But it is far from everything. By saying you cannot do something because of your appearance, you are putting a glass ceiling above yourself. There are no limits in life. It's that simple. A human being is a human being, so if both are born in the same situation, what elevates one baby over another? Get your MIP rating up because you should and you CAN.
Humans are amazing creatures. Reflect that fact and don't give up.
