So you randomly bump into a girl who you don't know well but she is flirting with you. You only have seconds before you go your separate ways. What is the minimum number of words you can use to get her phone number (in a romantic way)?

Example:

You (with 2 girls at your table): "Tanqueray and Tonic"
Hot bartender at crowded bar: "I know what you drink!"
You: "Wow... I never knew you cared enough to know..."
Hot bartender (fluttering eyelashes):: "I do!"

(There are a million situations like this, but here is where the timer starts)

You: "Are you single?"
Her: "Yes."
You: "Write your number down".

Without another word being spoken, without any clarification or her asking you to write your number, your drink and her hand-written phone number are placed on the bar together. And yes, you tip her.

So that is 7 words. Just saying "Write your number down" might be less words, but it wouldn't establish it in a romantic way, as qualified by asking if she is available does. Just asking if she is single establishes romance, but doesn't get the digits. Many have said they don't like asking if she is single as a pickup line, and indeed the particular words don't matter, but getting fast results do matter. Forwardness can increase interest level, and the bold move combined with her feeling initial attraction can set a relationship in motion.

So I wonder: is there a working example of a more efficient strategy?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

From my very little experience, even if you do take her number from just asking if she is single, it won't turn into anything. Heck, you can even hand her your phone without saying anything...

you need to establish a conversation before taking her number, it doesnt have to take like 20 minutes, but even 2-3 Minutes short conversation is a minimum to get her trust, otherwise you remain a stranger/creep in her head.

Yes and No. Both strategies have worked for me. Sometimes just the fact of her seeing your confidence and not giving three craps about if she gives you her number or not works, perhaps she can find you really attractive and many other reasons/variables who knows who cares. Other times they want more rapport. With women its hit or miss in many situations, who doesn't ever have to change is you and your frame as a man.
