That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
I would be, too! Don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that if you're going to claim innocence later on, it's best to probably start by being available and assisting the investigation.horaholic said:I'd be pretty freakin' scared right now, if I were that doctor!!
Exactly. Part of being a DJ is learning to think for YOURSELF. The media are vultures. They will say anything about anyone to make money (perez hilton anyone?) and they will take anything they possibly can out of context if it will make them money. And they know as much about what really may or may not have happened as everyone else who's calling him a pedophile: absolutely nothing.Violent V said:At least the people can't hurt him anymore. You can be sure I am certainly no Michael Jackson fan, just someone who saw it from a different perspective to the one the corporate media brainwashed people with. But seeing those folks in Harlem singing his songs on 125th street nearly made me cry.

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

One day you will die too...would you like it if people laughed at your wake?!?
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
He didn't bleach his skin. He suffered from chronic vitiligo.KontrollerX said:Stress related heart attack I'm guessing.
Its amazing he made it to 50 with all the stress he's been under his entire life.
He was great in the 80's.
If he wouldn't of went nuts bleached his skin, had the pedo allegations against him and became a general weirdo he could have become greater than Elvis as a musical icon.
I remember that performance. It makes me sad. Michael Jackson brought joy to a lot of people. He will be missed.6-heads lewis said:I dare anyone to watch this video and not be moved. It's MJ's incredible Superbowl performance. Have you ever seen so many people genuinely united in such a positive way in your life?

Naive and sincere are excellent words to describe Jackson. Tragic too.
I agree and with your earlier post too. I don't know that he was a pedophile (could of been extortion) and I don't care. It shouldn't even be brought up now. It's funny how people go from loving a celebrity to hating and trashing him. MJ was a great talent. He was probably the biggest and most popular artist in the early 80's.Truman181 said:Back to the pedophile thing...
Like I said in my earlier post, I doubt that the accusations were completely true (we'll never know).
BUT, even if he was guilty, that doesn't mean he should be damned. There are a lot of former pedophiles walking around that are good people and regret their actions.
Everyone deserves to be remembered for the good in them after their death.
You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.
She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.
Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.
Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
KontrollerX said:"Smells like extortion to me.
In other words Jacko was just another OJ Simpson which means a guilty SOB that got off due to money, fame and the race card.
He may have seen MJ in the bathtub, but that certainly is not proof that MJ molested him. In MJ's child-like mind, there is obviously nothing wrong with taking a bath with a kid. Now maybe he did molest them. I just don't know.KontrollerX said:"Smells like extortion to me.
Show some respect people, the man is dead and had a legendary career."
The cops have said the kid's story about how Jacko's genitals looked matched the pictures they took.
He mainly got off due to lack of evidence. Simply telling someone you've been molested or raped is not evidence that it happened. Especially when innocence is assumed in our court and you must prove guilt BEYOND a reasonable doubt. Now he might have done it, but the point is, there was not PROOF beyond a reasonable doubt that he did so.In other words Jacko was just another OJ Simpson which means a guilty SOB that got off due to money, fame and the race card.
He may have had it. This photo seems to suggest he did: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i279/marnifrances/Michael%20Jackson/Vitiligo5.jpgAnd as for the guy that told me he had vitiligo yeah I know that was the story he gave the media but I don't buy it at all.
There were reports he bought skin bleaching elements on the black market from mobster types and besides all that true vitiligo only is supposed to effect patches of skin here and there not make a person uniformly a new color completely as in Jacko's case.
In the end, when someone that famouse dies, people will brush aside the worst aspects and the Michael they remember will be the 70s and 80s era area Michael before his cheese slid off the cracker. It's the same with Elvis. People tend to define him by his Jailhouse Rock days, not the fat, drug addict with a cape playing in sleasy casinos image. We realize it happened, but we cast it aside and define by the peak of his career and it will be no different with MJ. That guy was just larger than life in the mid 80s, larger than Elvis, larger than the Beatles. I don't don't even think there's a singular person before or since then that had the level of fame and adoration he did, outside of a religious figure.Anyway this guy is still a hero to a great many people for sure but his legacy is forever tainted via the child molesting claims and as many times as the issue had been brought up in his life Occam's Razor favors him being a pedo as the simplest possible explanation since lets face it there's other ways to try and extort a celebrity besides this nasty angle that followed Jacko during much of his career
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
