"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I'm a junior and I have missed oppurtunities durign the most important times: the first days of school. That's when the new freshman and sophmores that like older dudes (which is now me) come in and I blew it. I only talked to one girl and I only talked to her twice and she hooked up with another junior in like the second week of school!

And my school is small. There are 130 freshman and about 70-80 of them are girls. A lot of them hooked up with people mad quick and now I don't know what to do. If I would have started talking to them during the first week, I could have started a conversation with stuff like "are you new?" and "how do you like it here?" but I don't think those will do that good now.

I have a problem approaching girls. It just feels awkward talking to someone I don't know out of nowhere. It's easier for me when there is a real reason behind it. For example, I saw someone who goes to my church and we starting talking and I made her laugh a LOT and stuff. I know if I can start a good convo, it's smooth sailing from there, but how do I start it up?

Alsom what do I do after the initial introduction. One girl I talked to on the first day, learned her name, got some good responses, so then I approached her again a few days later and now when I pass her we don't even look at eachother. I feel like if I keep approaching her to talk to her, it'll look desperate and now it would feel awkward talking to her since I haven't talked to her in a while. I need help :( .

Basically, I just want to know if I'm basically screwed this year and will have to wait for the next batch of newbies next year because I failed to make contacts the first few days of school or can I still mack the new girls? If so, what should I do? Act like it's the first few days and do what I should have done: just go around introducing myself and making contact or do I need a different approach for the situation?

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

I don't quite understand why you think that since you haven't found a girlfriend in the first month that means you won't get one the rest of the year.

YES TOMMOROW YOU HAVE TO GO TALK TO EVERY CHICK YOU KNOW, BECAUSE AFTER TOMMOROW, THAT'S THE CUT OFF DATE, YOU WILL WASTE THE YEAR IF YOU DO NOTHING TOMMOROW.

That's the mentality you should have everyday, to truthfully answer your question you have time left, but you should have done more than that. I too have squandered away the first couple of days but lets rebound properly.

"Every moment is another chance to turn it all around"

I think that was from American Beauty... I can't remember for sure right now.

Just because you didn't talk to someone the first day of school doesn't mean you can't talk to them now...

Alsom what do I do after the initial introduction. One girl I talked to on the first day, learned her name, got some good responses, so then I approached her again a few days later and now when I pass her we don't even look at eachother. Smile when you see her, say hi. Be relaxed and don't have any expectations. By this, I mean don't go in with the mindset that she has something you're trying to get or win or whatever. It sounds like you're too worried about the outcome of the interaction or her perception of you. Just be friendly, and don't worry about her reaction; and this applies to everyone, not just this girl. Social interaction is a lot easier if you don't base success or failure on the outcome. Any social interaction should be a success, because every conversation makes you better at talking to people.

While it's true that first impressions are important, keep in mind that these are people you're around every day; you always have the opportunity to change your behavior and make a new impression. People quickly adapt and forget the past; if you act out of character people may find it strange at first, but if you keep it up it becomes your character and people accept it. Generally people only think about their own little universe, so if you're worried about what people think of you, realize that they probably don't think of you. If you approach and put yourself in their little universe, that's when they'll think of you. And if you're friendly, relaxed and confident, then they'll think well of you.
