I do not think that things changed that much , just that the internet made this more transparent and more available

I interpreted his message as an acknowledgement of the current situation and to "seek help" not for picking up girls but for mental health reasons bcus of the very real problem of attention spamming on social media. Nothing wrong with what he typed at all. I'm just saying, this is the norm, and not unusual. When a dude (or dudette) comes to SS, get ready for some cold hard truth.
