Men 35+, friendlier w/ exes than before?

Just wondering if older guys have better relationships with ex-girlfriends than younger guys, on average.

Both for myself and a friend who is about 40yo, we've found that when we were young and things didn't work out with a girlfriend, there was a lot of animosity and we never stayed in touch. But now, for the most part, we've found that even when the relationship goes south we tend to stay better friends with ex-girlfriends than we did as younger men. He and I both have several exes as friends on facebook, etc. He actually hangs out with 2 of his exes quite frequently and talks about his new girlfriend with them.

Any other older guys have this same experience or no?

Why are you worried about it?

One thing I never got about exes is that a relationship is basically a friendship except you like to fvck that person.

Sooo if it did not work why waste your time trying to pursue a friendship with some h0re you didn't end up liking?

Use your time for better things is what I would suggest like meeting more women or devoting more time to bettering yourself.

Of course if your pursuing a friendship with a hot ex as a means to fvck her friends..Then by all means!

My ex thinks we are friends, but I hate her guts. I'm polite and I've gotten past things in the past, but I look at her and I don't like the person she is. I get along for my daughter.

I've never been friends with any ex, and most of them I never hated, they just sorta ceased to exist after the first nut busted in new pvssy.

My ex comes to pick our kid up the other day and says "I had this weird dream last night". I'm thinking "What in the fvck do I care? Am I really supposed to be interested or give a 5hit about your dreams or even your personal life?" I tell her absolutely nothing about my personal life. It's none of her business. When she asks questions, I give her vague answers unless it's regarding the care of our child.

She's pissed off her family members so much that they come to ME when they want to visit our child.

That's actually kinda scary.
I just got a text from my ex a week ago saying: I hope you are okay, I've dreamt about you 3 times this week.

Needless to say, I didn't respond, but I guess they'll try to find an opening ANYWHERE to get back into contact. She's even gone so far as to text my family members to see if I'm alive.

At 29, I still act just the same as I did at 19 about ex's: I want them out of my life.

yah. Mine does that as well. I was thinking about you, I had a dream about you, how is your mom and dad? Anything to get me talking. I keep it simple. In fact I do Roissy One Word Game on her, not because I'm trying to game her, but because I just don't want to talk to her period. She tries to get her mother to find out about my life. She emailed me asking how I was doing after the fire, I never told her about it. My parents told her parents. Meh. Everyone in our families like each other but me and her, so I play nice.

haven't had too many GF's after the divorce,but It's nothing compared to an ex wife.Glad SHE texts now,don't have to talk to the b1tch. Kind of kept in touch with 1 ex-she's in the same field. May be good for another go around,but she sin't LTR material. SO if she comes or goes-doesn't matter.

When you have kids to raise and an office to run,women are the least of my worries[still like sex though,so I have to talk to them occasionally]

While I agree that it's not a good idea to make a bunch of enemies, I think most guys subscribe to the idea of just being civil with exes and leaving it at that.

I'm pretty indifferent about my exes... even those that resulted from relationships that ended on decent terms. I'm not a jerk towards them, but I'm not buddy-buddy either.

Exactly. If your civil and don't run around town bad mouthing them or even discussing them you should be fine.

A couple of years back after my breakup my father told me this over a few drinks. "Always dress nice, it goes a long way, be careful of women who will try to use you, and always keep your mouth closed, you'll get a whole lot more women if they know you don't talk. Never badmouth an ex girlfriend. Everyone will run and tells everything you say." I thought to myself, where was this wisdom at 16? LOL.

Just because there's a break-up doesn't necessarily mean that you're making enemies. Not every case ends in an absolute like that. Most of the times, there is just no contact by agreement.

Besides, all my ex's are in another country.
