Meeting Women Through Parents???

My mother wanted me to meet a woman from work this weekend at my parent's house. The woman is 23 (I'm 29), devorced, and has a child. Mom insists that I meet her but I'm having reservations. Meeting women with my parents present seems kind of weird. What are your thoughts? Would you meet/date women that your mother has found for you?

I avoid meeting women through my mother like the plague. Think of it this way. You mother loves you very much and is still probably very protective of you. Subconciously, she is going to want someone who is not a threat to the connection between you and her.

Pick your own women. Your mother will be fine with whoever you pick. If she isn't, time to stand up to her and be a good husband and defend your wife.

I Personally don't like meeting women through any friends or family. I have met some thru friends but usually have them point them out a party and do the intro myself. Having someone else do the intro sorta portrays that you are not gutsy enought to do it yourself.

Then, after the self intro I mention I'a freinds with .....SO and SO.

I got a lot of offers through my parents. Never touched 'em. These women heard all kinds of exaggerated stories about me. Their expectations would be out of whack. And I'd much rather bag my own women.

Keep in mind that even though you might love your mother very much, you might not want to be stuck with someone who is very much like your mother. Mothers tend to want someone for their son who has that over protective nature

I don't mind meeting people with parents anymore, yeah it was weird when I was like a teenager but cool now.

The only problem is parent s are good at picking wives and GFs, but horrible at picking women that turn me on, so for that reason I don't llet anyone hook me up.
