I am in serious competition with this guy or girl from UK.. Selling DVDs..

I started it by selling at the same price and shipping rate.. Now he one uped me by raising their price by $1..

It's an old dirty trick.. It says their product is better because it costs more, and it's just one dollar, so..

I don't know how to go around that?

I think you will benefit. Just make sure your listings are professional. When i shop for books or dvds, i go with what's lower.

His prices are already lower. Lowering them would only hurt himself

What I did now is finally upgraded my PayPal account to accept credit cards..

Then I used same marketing techniques he used, except my listing is $1 cheaper and it says fastest shipping from U.S.A..

I took a leap of faith, hopefully I'll make a mil on this..

The fastest shipping thing is smart. There is someone that I buy packing supplies from, and I usually get a notice that my materials have shipped within a few hours! That always impresses me.

Having said that, customer service will trump his "marketing ploy" of raising his prices by a buck. If you offer great customer service, you should do great. If he is a powerseller, and you have small amount of feedback, it may take some time. Buy some of those 1 cent ebooks, and build up your feedback.

I sell five things, and that takes care of listing fees.. Now it's all about profit, and I know I'd sell at least 20 more, perhaps 40.. I'm so excited!

Fvck! It was good while it lasted, mother fvcker complained to eBay for me stealing his images.. Cvck sucker! I got literally now all fees, including final value, refunded.. I still have people that send me money via PayPal though..

I'm fighting back, saying that images are open source, and they don't know what they doing.. Even though they are not open source.. But what do they know.

I'll just make own images, instead of photoshopping his.. I'll still outsold him and will continue to outsell him, too easy.

I had to be hard on you, cuz that was so stupid, and could jeopardize your ability to sell on that site. You don't want to be flagged as some illegit hustler, because once you lose your account, your chance to make money there is GONE, baby, GONE. It isn't worth it.

Having said that, if you are selling DVDs and the such, aren't there stock photos you could use?? I don't understand why you'd have to steal HIS pics.

I had my stuff used before, I never gave a damn. So I thought I'd get his picture, photoshop it and use it.. Market it as new, longer, improved.. Mother fvcker is a total playa hater..

I've deployed a new strategy.. With it, I am going to murder the competition.. Plus I've learned what REALLY sells.. All in all this was a positive experience, and I made money..

It goes like this, they refunded all the listing fees, close to $40.. I get to make sales of over $50 from a few items that paid.. If one of them cancels, oh well, it only cost me $4.50 to mail all that garbage.. I'm still balling!
