I looked into a page on Male Entitlement Syndrome- it tries to rehabilitate men into thinking that no-one owes them a relationship, specifically, more or less, one with a hot woman, and that it requires much work.
I think the advice here does not reflect society.
Thing is, I'm not entitled to an attractive woman and I accept that, but the problem is my outlook, and that is half the battle.
Problem though, is when all the girls you know think they are going to snag a hot guy that is rare (i.e. the kind who think life is a Hollywood movie), you already have the problem of believing you are worthy of love/relationships despite your shortcomings.
What it doesn't address is that some girls' standards are unrealistically high too.
Why should I lower my standards when most of them won't lower theirs?
Ever had a woman publicly weigh you by your looks? That's what I talking about.
What do you think?
