Making sure it isn't a fake

This is something I did at the mall today, I actually got the girls number before fluff talking her, and after I got it I saved it in my phone. At the very end of the conversation, I got my phone back out and looked at the number. I pretended that my phone did not save it, and i asked for her number again. She gave me the same #.

So unless a girl has a memorized fake phone number, you can compare the one she gives u to the one in your phone, and you can tell right there if it's legit, if not then u dont waste time calling.

It's always worked for me, even though I'm only in high school.

Another variation of repeating the number back to them but with 1 incorrect number. If they wanted to give you their real number they'll be pretty quick to correct you, if its a fake they won't know its the wrong number anyways,

You could just call her 2 or 3 days later like you were going to anyway, if the number is fake, then you wouldn't want to deal with her anyway, if it's real, then she really wanted you to call.

You don't need to immediately find out if the number is real or not, unless you just boned this chick and you just want to have a way to track her down in case some warts pop up on your penis.

I was thinking the same thing. If she's attracted to you, she'd most likely give you the number, else she'd say "no" or give you a fake one.

If you find out right there and then that it's fake and she gives you the real one does it mean that she's attracted to you now?

Maybe there's a reason to care about getting the fake number that I'm not aware of.

Avoiding a fake number is only to protect your own confidence. If a girl gives you a fake number, she doesn't give a sh*t about you. She's not going to become attracted to you if you call her out on giving a fake, she'll probably just say sorry and walk away.

Disagree. When getting numbers, you should always call them, simply so they have your number as well, and to check that you have typed it in right! Heck, a "fake number" could be a typo!

Also, how common is the fake number? I've never encountered it personally.
