"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Recently got into a relationship that i hope will turn into a LTR. (2 months so far). We have made good progress, both physically, and comfort level around each other. She lives in another city, and I have some milestones to tackle soon. I have to meet her close group of friends, and her best friend who she lives with. I also have to meet her parents around Christmas. I am looking for general advice and tips on how to behave act to win over best friends and parents. I know getting approval from friends is extremely important. I am not looking for "Be Yourself" advice. Looking for tactics like focusing lots of attention on the best friends, getting her talking about herself. Anyone have anything to add or could dig up a previous post for me?

Thanks

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Sure:

One, don't meet anyone until you've made her your girlfriend and she's been your gf for 3 months. You need to build up enough time with her to where she likes you so much that it makes it harder for her to be swayed by her friends' thoughts about you should they be negative.

Same goes for parents - you should wait six months to a year before you meet them. BTW, these "meeting" events don't need to be rushed - the more patient you are the better.

As for how to win them over? Manners. That's pretty much it - treat her and them with respect and they should like you. It's really not that hard to impress people, just be nice to them and don't use bad language.

Oh yeah - when meeting her girlfriends, be cordial to them but do NOT give them excessive attention. Your gf will be looking to see if you're TOO nice to them, at which point she might think you like one of THEM more than her.

Hope this helps!

Sounds promising saving her living in another city....that is deadly. Women are emotional creatures who don't use logic so if she meets another guy who makes her tingle, it's wont be good.

I've met a girl parents, brother, sister, and close friends. The girls parents were best friends with mine and they grew up together. Was about to marry her...but she lived in another city and suddenly met a guy who turned her on slightly more than I did.

Think Danger said it best....unless you are travelling there every week to see her, she is getting her sex from someone else.

These guys have brought up great points! I'm gonna stick to the original question regarding how to win over her family and friends. There is no substitute for showing a genuine interest in what someone is saying... People LOVE to talk about themselves, and often you'll find yourself talking about 20% of the time in these "conversations." I LOVE when that happens, because I just make eye contact, nod, smile or frown whenever appropriate, and throw in little observations to let them know "I get it." In the unlikely event they run out of things to say, I'll throw a question out there to get 'em going again!

Another thing to remember is, when you tell them things about yourself, do it in a humble and unassuming way. This type of communication packs a much bigger punch than the "blow your own horn" method, which comes across as bragging. Believe me, if you casually mention (when asked) something interesting, or an accomplishment, they will pick up on it. There's no need to deviate from the normal course of conversation just to throw in things you want them to know -- you'll have plenty of chances along the way to say what you want during natural conversation.

You can even check to see how you're doing if you are talking to two or more people.... After chatting for a while, excuse yourself for some reason. When it's safe, look back and observe their body language... Are they smiling, chatting happily and grabbing each others arms? If so, you're in. If they're wincing, putting their hands over their eyes, or making a pistol out of their hand and holding it to their head, you'll want to keep walking.
