There was a part of me who wanted a 'hot babe' for social status. The old me did anyway. After all, our shallow youth/beauty obsessed culture builds them up as good people that we should give a fvck about. Through my teens and early twenties I was giving power to others feeling and thinking that I would never be one of those, and it affected my life on so many fronts. The real me that I tried so hard to embrace was just ridiculed and isolated.

Many people might find 'pity party' threads annoying after a fashion, be it from a man or woman, but looks matter.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
