This should go without saying, but just incase; stop drinking until the doctor says it's ok.

yes both are connected. You're most likely have a kidney disease or you might have a lot of stones build up inside your kidney.

My dad had the same problem, so he had to go in for a laser surgery to break up the big stones. Guess which way the stones are coming out of? Just to warn you it's the most painful thing you'll do in your life.
