I have been trying to figure out what to say for my sisters wedding that is coming up in a few weeks and I honestly can't think of anything that would really mean anything. The whole topic about love is about as foreign to me as a Mexican in Lou Dobbs house. I've never really been in love and the only GF I've had was for two months while she thought about leaving her husband.
A couple of months ago, two girls asked me basically the same question in two different forms. One girl, (I hooked up with her) asked me "What does it mean to be someone's gf?" and the other (a friend who was the gf of my buddy) asked me "How do I know he is serious about me?"
After much time and thought the only answer I can come up with was that a girlfriend is someone you have sex with but also do other non-sexual things with.
Clearly, this is quite an inadequate answer, not to mention inappropriate for a wedding toast.
Sometimes I want to experience love not because I have some desire to be loved but it's more like something between a curiosity about the experience and/or just wanting a normal life and settling down (for awhile). The idea of more access to sex is also appealing, but I digress.
I just don't know what to say at a wedding, any wedding. Please help.
PS, Yes I do realize the irony of asking this on a pick up site.
