I am sure there has to be a specific name for this I just don't know what to search to find what it is.

A person will be interested in somebody but doesn't want that interest to be known. So their interest will leak through by talking about that person a fair amount. The manner they speak about that person in isn't always positive. Bringing up annoyances or the other sort, but always finding a way to talk about them. Essentially hiding it yet still letting it leak through. Does this have a specific psych name?

Cognitive dissonance is close but it's not exactly that. It's not trying to subconsciously hide it
