Guys,
So last night I went to the gym to lift weights. Arrived just before 9. Put the following into locker:
iPhone 5 about a year old
20 pounds note e.g. About 30 dollars
Cheap sweater about 20 dollars
House key and building fob
I don't sweat much lifting so that was all I brought. Wallet left at home.
I come back an hour later the combination padlock is gone and the iPhone is gone. The locker is undamaged. Everything else is there. What is very strange is the 20 pounds cash is untouched.
I speak to management that night and in the morning - nothing returned.
There is info on the phone that could be used for identity fraud and maybe a password or two but without matching user name. Also photos of bank statements which I used to do my tax returns. The phone had the 4 digit lock on it set to lock in a few minutes, maybe as few as 1-2 minutes. I have iOS 6 I think. It was a different combination from the one for the lock.
I downloaded the "find my iPhone app" to my iPad. No luck - it shows my iPhone as being offline. Not sure if that's because it's really offline or off or because I didn't have it set to green on the find my iPhone feature or because I didn't download the app to the phone before it was stolen.
I do the following ASAP: change all my key passwords especially my main email account. Get all my debit cards replaced the next day. Change all my online banking passwords. Reported it to the police who will look at the cameras around the turnstile sadly there are no cameras around the lockers in the changing room. Had the SIM card blocked by the carrier.
Should this be enough or should I get my locks changed too? I am worried the thief may have left the 20 to make it look like I lost my phone to buy him some time to pilfer my accounts and get my personal details. And that maybe he took the key, had cutting machinery on him to copy the fob and key, and returned the key so I don't change the locks.
Sorry guys I know this is a dating forum but practical advice from you brothers is what I need right now.
Thankfully I had saved the numbers of my two favorite plates separately. The other ones I can contact off the sites I met them.
I feel shaken because it is a fairly upmarket gym.
