Enough arguing already, I think. You don't HAVE to be right, or force your own values and opinions on other people. Your argument is doesn't seem to be going anywhere anyway, it's only between your egos. And if at all possible, I think a non-religious thread would work better. Only because religion is off-topic, and generally isn't allowed on the board.

To the original poster...I don't think that the answer is an easy one, or something that can be easily gotten. Life is whatever you make of it. Happiness? We all want happiness. Peace? Accomplishment? Wisdom? I don't know. There are a number of philosophies that you could look into...as someone mentioned earlier. Learn, and do whatever YOU think is right. It's something that can't be decided by anyone but yourself. Nothing really matters anyway, to anyone but yourself, and things are what you make of it. Decide on what is important to you, and adhere to it. It's a matter of opinion, I think. People are all different...and different people result from different circumstances and create different opinions. I can tell you that being selfish, self-absorbed, and egotistical doesn't always work. I can't give you any more advice than that.

Do a search on Smooth as Anything in the High School Forum. Along with Brazilian_Blues_Boy. They makes a few interesting philosophical points. Not for everyone, but you might like it. And you also might find Carl Jung interesting.
