"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Some of you still think your facial and body appearance do not matter when it comes to attracting attractive women. Since I find this topic fascinating, I will pay close attention to the attractiveness level of various couples that I see. I work at the front desk of a hotel, so I see alot of couples come in.

In all of these close contacts with couples I have seen, VERY, VERY RARELY have I seen a George Constanza look alike or a guy who is obese come in with a girl who is rated a 7+. When I see an attractive girl come in, her b/f, fiancee, husband is usually in the same looks range. If anything, one might be slightly better looking than the other, but there is not really a noticeable difference.

This past weekend, I was at an airshow in Ohio that had well over 100,000 people at it. EVERY single obese man that I saw was not with an attractive woman, but another ugly fat ass woman.

On my plane ride home, there was a girl who was a knockout and had the face of a model. Would I guy like me, who rates about a 7 on the looks scale have a chance with this girl? Unless, I had tons of cash maybe, the answer is NO. She is looking for a guy who is extremely good-looking. This does not bother me at all, since most of us would feel "uncomfortable" and "insecure" if we date "out of our range".

In conclusion, if looks DID NOT MATTER, than one would see alot more obese men and men with faces like Napoleon Dynamite walking around with attractive women. YOU DON'T SEE IT and please save me the "I see ugly dudes with hot women all of the time. NO YOU DON'T!! These men probably are not ugly, they are just average looking. You see them as ugly probably because you are/think you are better looking than them.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Mahon,

I haven't gotten into the "looks" threads, but point me to someone who's said looks doesn't matter (at all)? Of course it matters some, but its not everything. Are you suggesting its everything?

In any event, one can and should improve one's look, image, and appearance.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

No, she's not. You're assuming your male motives map over to woman land. If by "she" we are taking about "good looking women in general" (in other words we're not talking about this woman specifically but using her as a proxy for the class of women) then she (women, even pretty ones) has many criteria.

Looks are a factor, but for most women, even beautiful ones, they are not the sole factor. The biggest factor that can make beautiful women seem hard to get is that they often know their worth in the eyes of men is high and that therefore they can be picky. They are not rejecting average to good looking guys because they are not handsome enough, but because the men in question do not seem to meet their requirements.

In short, looks matter a bit but most of us are clustered around average and that's easily good enough.
