Something that I started considering today, is why in the hell do I not try and absorb, know and understand every single bit of information in this entire world. Why am I not reading, focusing and contemplating on human behavior and applying it to whatever I am doing.

Why do I strive to be successful with women when I should be striving for information and success? Women will come in and out of your life as you become successful and start viewing yourself as successful. You become successful when you acquire knowledge and you apply that knowledge in some field. You eventually become successful enough that you can have the car you want, the apartment you want, all the stuff you want. And when you are happy with where you are, people will recognize this and want to be part of your life as they see you as an exciting successful man, not the guy still living with his mum.

Anyone who has watched the mentalist will get what I am saying. Imagine understanding the amount that his character does, and being able to apply it to social situations. Another example that I came across today is this pilot for a new series called 'suits', http://www.megavideo.com/?v=X56R28SN.

Anyway, why am I starting to put women in my priorities above knowledge and success in business.

I think it's good to balance both. Lately I've found myself in the same rut. Reading too much information, and not enough in-field application (read: LIFE)

The 10 greatest articles might not compare to a Friday night out. I appreciate this thread though as I've been having the same problem

I absolutely agree in principle. The problem is the sheer volume of information out there. Studying this stuff could be a full time job and then some. Plus I couldn't possibly remember it all even if I tried.

I think experience sticks in your mind better than what you read. This is especially true if you mess up a good opportunity in the game or your career or in any important part of your life.

Haha thanks man, its just recently iv been wondering, how cool it would be to just know stuff. Not for other people, not to validate myself to others, but for myself. Imagine having the knowledge that other people dont, being able to challenge ideas and then see that challenge through with success in some field. Why do we have to convene to normal thought, I hate the idea that everything I know, someone else came up with. We aren't taught to think for ourselves in life, the people who are truely successful, have been able to realize this and start thinking for themselves. Why do you think a lot of successful people do so badly in school. Its not because they can't do it, its because they have no interest in learning spoonfed information that is generally restricted to a syllabus that sometimes distorts the information to make it more simple.
