"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

So, I've been dating this girl and we both decided that we want to have an open, non-serious relationship. Not merely friends, but not an exclusive couple either. Somewhere in between. We want to be able to date other people. (We're both 19).

It wasn't until now that we were both on the same page regarding this decision. She wanted it first and it confused me, but I'm good now. So, it's been about a month since we've kissed and we both really have fun doing it.

I had my friend text her on her cell phone asking if she would let me kiss her...she said yes, but that it wouldn't mean anything. What I think she meant by that was it wouldn't mean that we're "together".

The way I figure, we can have a casual relationship and still kiss -- it's a way to show affection and to just have fun -- kind of a way of flirting...

We both still like each other and the chemistry and attraction is there. We just don't want to be "serious" right now.

Anyway, if the opportunity arises, should I just kiss her? Imagining it, it seems like it would be kind of hard, but I think it would break the ice and help us to both feel more comfortable around each other...

Any advice/ideas/suggestions/tips, etc...?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I personally dont see nothing wrong in kissing a girl. The only thing is that if u kiss (and maybe go further), i think it's pretty possible that one of you will want to start an exclusive relationship, because of this new intimacy u've developed together.

But i dont know, i think this relationship u guys wanna be in is a bit weird. From my experience, u can either be gf/bf or fvck-friends, but not something in between...

Well, we both want to be good friends, but act like a couple. Neither of us are ready for a "serious" relationship together. "Labeling" our relationship as "friends" rules out commitment - wherein we would restrict ourselves from dating and getting to know other people.

This way, we're basically boyfriend/girlfriend (emphasis on friend). ;)

Woah there. Leave Jesus out of this...;)

I know it's fine for me to kiss her...It's just been a long time since we've kissed...and I'm just not sure how to re-inititate/re-establish it. I suppose it's easy...just do it. ;)

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Are you sure youre 19? Sounds like something a 12 year old would do!!

You should just do what feels right, if you wanna kiss her then do it (dont ask her!), sounds to me like youre overanalysing the situation, lighten up dude and dont take it all to seriously!!

Excuse me if im wrong but: doesn't that mean that you can kiss her and maybe even F____ her, and still pursue relationships with other gurls.

You guys are right...I'm over-analytical about everything. A friend of mine told me not to worry...to have fun and get all the kissing I can in.

Dude... I'm happy that u woke up... but I'm gonna throw in my 2c anyways:D

Its called being friends with benefits , which means that u are NOT togeather anymore, u are just 2 friends that do sexual things togeather. That kind of "relationship" between a guy and a girl is common in the days of today... So Eventhough u seem like a 12 year old by asking your friend to ask her if she would let u kiss her, but alas, she said "yes", So just go for it, and do whatever u want with her (sexualy), and whatevver u did with her when u were properly together, the only difference now is that the 2 of you are not commited to one another/bf and gf/in a serious relationship. So stop holding back, and get in there!;)

Whats the POINT of this relationship if 1. ITS OPEN and 2, ALL you guys are doing is KISSING???

We haven't kissed for a month...we hang out, watch movies, go to dinner, etc...it's just that kissing is fun and I want to get back in gear. It's just that when we kiss, I feel a lot more comfortable around her.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

See... most people call that a friend...

Are you sure this girl didn't just break up with you? If she really wants an open dating relationship, then it's pretty safe to assume she wants the physical aspects that go with it... otherwise she's just playing you, and I'd reccomend getting out now.

Kiss her, damn it...
