I've anticipated cracking it open for a few days, yesterday I did. Only one chapter in, and (written 1961) it covers a LOT of info on original man and how for a century since Darwin it was common scientific consensus that we came from docile, leaf-eating "peaceful" non-territorial primates, when as this book shows accounting the anatomist Raymond Dart, we derive as humans from a branching off of peaceful vegetarian apes to a Killer break-off of primates who began using antelope femurs (a TOOL) to kill other apes, standing upright eventually to Australiopithicus Africanus, a 4 ft tall small skull ape brain but standing walking biped (ape-man) found in 1922 by Dart in Nairobi or at the boarder of Kenya/Congo around Lake Victoria. A few years later Dr. Leakey found another in a cave in South Africa, then they found over one hundred. It took until 1953 to Change scientific thought that we used tools and stood upright with Smaller brains/skulls before we had Big brains. Before 1953, the uppah class scientists denied their findings and said that our Big Brains came FIRST which is in terrible error. The use of TOOLS (to KILL basically, we were predators) mutated our sight and touch for coordination in carrying out killing, thus Territorial (which went against the religious science of the early 20th century). The observation of birds (the warbler, also the "cuck") in the late 1800s by British bird-watcher Elliot Howard showed the male birds being Territorial when they fought above ALL ELSE, that it was NOT fighting other male birds on behalf of female birds, but with solely the mission to protect or INCREASE his territory. The female birds came later. Territory was his Primary aggression or motivation for doing what he does daily. Then there's the Lone Tiger who covers several square miles of territory and knows when it's been breached. Before these archeologists, anthropologists, anatomists, geologists took trips to Africa to study the wild IN THE WILD (and not ZOOS), it was believed that males across ALL species fought other males to get "sex" from the females. On the contrary post-Zoology study, Males of primates, birds, beasts of the tall grass, fought ONLY for Territory. The females were a side-benefit or an afterthought. The animal would get ANGRY when his territory was broached, and that's ALL. Sex was secondary.
