Sorry if this has been asked before, but how much worse is jump roping as opposed to running/jogging for your main cardio? I ask because a gym is not attainable and the outside running is real hard with the temperature right now. I am trying to cut down if that helps.

I've read 10 minutes of jump roping is equal to 30 minutes of jogging.

It's not 'worse' than jogging. Try skipping for 10 minutes vs jogging for 10 minutes.

Jump roping? Not heard that one before. I'm assuming you're talking about what I call skipping, which is excellent cardio... just look at boxers.

Bah, there is some guy at the gym where I lift, he does jump rope for like 2 hrs non stop with weights on his ankles + wrists... crazy I say.

jump ropping isnt as easy as it sounds. I remember when i was trying to lose some belly fat i began jumping...it works a sweat! Im happy with the results though, its pretty much a full body workout like running.
