"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Hey there folks, just got out of a date tonight.
More like walked out...
Not really sure what to think, it was a first date with some new girl I met. Really relatively the first after recovering from being an AFC.

Movies and dinner, yadayada. Movie was nice, dinner had good talk, even though the girl was probably really new at dating even... I slipped in a sly question about her dating and she said 'Well, I had an idea...'

So out we went from the late dinner, her bestfriend calls her and she's in town. She drove for the night so automatically, they had to meet up at some country bar just so happens to be right across where I live.

I thought, well, why not?

We get over there. Uh-oh. Bad move, shoulda split.
I get pushed aside as the two reacquaint and reunite.
I couldn't bare to stay and watch from afar I said goodnight and walked home.

Good move or chumpy?

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

First date? Do something fun and social.

Beach, Comedy Club, anything thats not the movies. -- You need to take the date as an opportunity for your personality to come through, not an akward situation that lets her sit and think about you, be unexpected , dont give her a chance to come up with a solid idea of who you are just yet. Keep her intrigued.

Your first problem was the movie. Second was the boring dinner, and 3rd was letting her take charge of where you guys went after the dinner.

Walking away: didn't matter at that point. You already were a wimp in her eyes, and its clear she didnt want to be apart of this date anymore.

Hard lesson learned then. Not much to do in this town sadly, so movies was really the option that sprung up.
