hello guys, what’s up.

I used be active here... about 10 yrs back... its a good forum and learned a lot from here.
I’m planning to use this space to write down my daily fitness routines and some personal goals.
following is my plan for next 6 months. Loose about 20 LBS [I know its a f**king hard] , Get a Job in FAANG. Mind Control [focus only on positive things in life.]
why I want to do above things.

1) Lose weight -- I have high cholesterol and I want to control it without medication, I have GERD and I have observed working out helps control it and who doesn’t want to look younger and healthy.
2) Get a job in FAANG – I want to work at least in a year in top Tech companies with brightest minds in industry, increase salary, also currently the company where I’m working CEO and CTO resigned, so I foresee a layoff coming.
3) Mind Control – build healthy positive mindset.

Where I’m currently At.

Lose weight – 195 LBS
Current Job – Lead software engineer. [ its a good job with decent salary]
Mind Control – Emotional, worrying about trivial things, not focused

What I’m planning to do. [Please comment]

  1. Update journal daily – Spend 15 mins to update journal daily.
  2. Gym – Morning gym for 45 mins, more cardio and legs exercise.
  3. Improve diet.
  4. Interview preparation – solve Leetcode for 2 hrs daily. [this is soul sucking]
  5. Start interviewing in 30 days. [2 interviews per week min]
  6. Meditate for 10 mins.
  7. Don’t waste time on Internet and digital media which adds no value to life.
Thanks
Manish

Day 1. it was a slow start.

Woke up at 4 am.. tired ..wanted to sleep more...as always..lazy ass...but opened laptop ..and started doing interview preparation.

wanted to go to gym at 7.30 am, but felt asleep...

went to gym in evening and did leg workout [ugly egg first].

overall good day, had lot of errands and I felt I could do more interview preparation.

also I need to focus more on diet.

I'm putting more focus on cardio.. around 20 mins cardio for 250 calories.

then I lift weight, body is not in shape... will share the pics soon.

3) Squats -- no weight-- 20 lbs
3) Bench - no weight- 20 lbs-- 50 lbs- 90 lbs

Day 5- Good Gym day, I'm need to change my way to practice algorithms, I'm getting stuck at one problem and spending couple of hours on the same, then loosing interest, new technique which I will try to follow is, spend 15 mins max on thinking on problem else see the problem solution and then move ahead, and try to solve same problem again at night.

1) Elliptical - 20-23 mins- 250 calories.
2) dumbbell raise - [5lbs, 10 lbs, 15 lbs]
3) barbell shoulder press - [30lbs, 50lbs, 70lbs]
4) Machine shoulder press - [20lbs, 60lbs, 60lbs]
5) Upright row
6) Delt Raise.
7) Squat [just to make my weak legs strong]
8) Bench Press [to remove my soreness].

good luck to me..lol

Day 7 - No gym [wanted to go but got lazy]
did a pramp session and failed [which was expected, but its brining me in zone for interviewing]
Diet was on toss as eat lots of sweets and carbs...why?

Morning mind was filled with depressive thoughts.

I'm easily giving it to my mind urges...I know It order to succeed I need to over come it.

Day 8 - Did a gym class, it really tiring and its a fully body workout.

class is called Barbell strength, 45 mins of intensive workout.

last time when I did I was sore for a week, lets see how it goes this time.

doing good in interview preparation [sometimes I'm thinking why I'm spending my life's valuable time in this soul sucking interview preparation].

is it I'm running behind things [for my ego satisfaction] or they are required ? not sure... downside for interview prep is my focus for current work drops...

I'm 35 years old and yet not stable in life , I'm earning 6 figure income, but still looking for better.

I have no friends, its not that I'm not friendly but not able to friends.

this is not how my life in USA would be, i'm trying to make it better , but its lots of efforts on many fronts... I'm hoping in next 6 months things will be better.

ia quick and dirty way is bootcamp...they teach you everything to get a six figure salary job.. also they have good connections with companies so they send you over for interviews.. downside is..its costly.. duration is 6 months full time and its lot of hard work..
