I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

You dont need toxic people in your life do you? Do you need someone who doesnt respect you?
Tell that to your Mom, that you appreciate her love and thoughtfulness but your sister has pushed you to the end of the line, and that you're sorry for her (your mom) sake that it cannot be reconciled.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I appreciate everybody's replies on this. My mom has ceased from ragging me about it. I was able to fend her off from "Have you thanked [sister] for the gift yet?" with "Not yet". But its been 4 days or so since she asked. A chick I know had a pretty good idea. She said "Don't call your sister. Don't text her. Don't unblock her. Send her a generic 'thank you' card in the mail". I pondered over that idea too. But in the end, I decided to do nothing. I just can't get past that horrific night in 2012 when I was at the lowest point in my life and my sister treated me like a piece of trash. Thanks again for all of the replies.
