Is throwing house parties risky

I am thinking about throwing a house party. I live in an avergae sized house. It is not directly visible to neighbors because it is semi secluded behind some woods. I am cautious about throwing a house party because i am paranoid that some of the inevitable unexpected guests are scoping out my house to come back later when i am not there. I do have firearms for home defense but i don't even want to invite that scenario. I am afraid that some chicks that my friends bring to the party may be linked to shady characters. I have some expensive **** in the house even though its not big. How do you balance the need to have house parties with this risk of people knowing the layout of your home to come back later?

Consider having it at some venue you have rented instead of in your house unless you are sure you can limit it to known, trusted people. Used to have lots of parties back in the day, they were a waste of time, money and often created more problems than anything I got from them. There's nothing like walking into your kitchen and having drunks you don't know going through your cabinets, strangers stamping out cigs on your carpet, or women stealing clothes, sunglasses or worse. Never ever allow women to bring unknown men to your house... never, and unknown women aren't much better. Just because your friends are "nice" doesn't mean the strangers they bring with them will be. Please reconsider.
