I gotta disagree with the crowd here, because I'm having a great time in college. One part of this is that I go to BU and I'm in a fraternity. Our girl/guy ratio is 60/40, so there's never any sausagefests. Also, because I'm in a fraternity there's always a party to go to. Not only that, but I also lift and do tons of daytime cold approaches at the Copley mall, so I'm always busy with something.

The other part is that you have to do a lot of work to make it the time of your life. You have to study hard, get involved in clubs and sports, make lots of friends, approach lots of girls.

I don't know why you are all so bitter. College IS the time of your life, if you make it the time of your life. I am having an absolute blast here, loving every minute of college. Sure there are some boring times and a lot of work, but there are much more good times. I am enjoying my freedom here a lot, and making the most of it. Most of all I am enjoying the city of Boston -- I come from a small town, so living in the city is awesome for me.

I've met some of the most beautiful and loving girls here, as well as made some of the best friends in my life. I've also met a bunch of guys who expanded what I thought possible with women, guys for who doing cold approaches is not a occasional hobby, but a lifestyle. Guys who have mastered the game, without using gimmicks and canned material. I'm going to be working for some of these guys (Dimitri and Vincent) this summer.

So what I'm saying is, don't just complain about how college isn't what you wanted it to be. Do something about it. Transfer if you have to. College does not have to suck.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Well I for one did expect something like TV...lmao.

It's nothing like I expected,it really is just a sleepover lamer version of highschool with lots of foreigners. The women look better but they're all taken or sleasy like I said before.

Quite frankly,I regret ever doing it.I would have gone to a community college of technical thing. That's how lame this is.A week doesn't go by that I don't seriously consider leaving.

Oxide, at least you don't go to a small private school where there's two guys for every girl, like I do.

Don't complain, just try harder ;)

I see some of you guys got similar experiences, while others dont; that's great.

First of all, to all the guys who think their college is lame, think about it again. What can you do to make it more exciting? I remember last year id go to different social events just by myself becuase my friends were "partying" .. i would get to know girls and make my friends's jaws drop when i brought them home with me.

Interestingly enough, today i noticed that the number of beautiful girls on campus isnt bad at all. I mean yeah they are not all models but there is a good number of very cute girls. (but a much larger of girls who "think" they are hot...when they are just a bit above average)

So really it isnt all that bad. Now that spring is coming around the corner, we are going to get our grills, our footballs and shorts and try to enjoy ourselves.

To all the people going to big schools with plenty of things to do: well, i was considering transfering to Las Vegas, however my school only runs me about 5k a year for tuition, and the business program is quite good.

I would love to visit you guys at bigger schools, so far i've been to U of Minnesota and Wisconsin Madison, and they were pretty good.

The thing is, i wonder just how much better it gets when i turn 21. It seems like EVERYONE over 21 goes to the bars, plus plenty of underage people do as well.. this is something im looking forward to.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

My school sucks. UIC. But then again I'm not trying as hard as I can.

This is my freshman year, and its quite boring. I live at home though, so that may be the issue. I hear dorming is much more fun.

I plan on going to U of I probably next year. UIC feels like highschool. I want the real college experience. I want to live away from the parents etc.

UIC has 25,000 people, and U of I has around 60,000. I think it would be great going to such a huge place.

I think the whole 'College years are the best times of your life' saying compares college to the working world.

And believe me fellas, COLLEGE IS A FREGGIN BLAST compared to working a 40 hour/wk job.

When you graduate college, here are a few things you get to look forward to:

*Gotta work to pay the tuition loands.
*Gotta work to pay the bills.
*Gotta work to pay the rent.
*Gotta work to eat.
*The social network you had in college gets smaller and smaller as friends get married, move away, and grow up.
*You graduate questioning your career, your future, where you are going.
*Those fun loving friendly college gals are turned into older women who are more interested in the car you drive and your bank account than you.
*Life gets ultra repetitive. Unlike school, where you get different classes each semester/qtr...you punch a clock..work your shift..and do it again 5 times per week.
*No extended winter, spring, or summer breaks when you're workng long hours.
*Pressure to make deadlines, succeed in your career...hell..just pressure to KEEP THAT JOB!

Yes, these are just some generalizations. And yes, there are people who are dedicatd to their jobs and love working. And yes, there are jobs at make work very fun and rewarding. And yes, the freedom of having money to buy that dream sports car, downtown condo, or airline tickets to hawaii are perks of working...there is a ton of stress and pressure to fill work deadlines...not to mention the outsourcing and downsizing of corporate America...perssure comes just to keep a job..

But ask the masses...and more people will tell you that those GOOD OLD college years were the best times of their lives.

Work hard and enjoy those years....especially knowing this DJing...didn't have this kind of info back in the day...wish I had though.

The best time of your life is right now. Because it is the only time in which you have the power of choice.

Your problem is that you chose to stay in a boring place instead of attending a school where the action is. I went to Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the girl to guy ratio is like 10 to 1. (ANd most of the guys are gay!) I dont think I have ever stumbled across so much easy pvssy in my entire life....good times, good times.

Yes, it sucks.

George Gallup does opinion polls on graduating seniors across
the country. 17% are competely satisfied with their college experience, and the numbers have stayed about the same for the last decade and a half.

There is NO quality control of the teaching or the curriculum. Academics have a job for life and many of them are boring, lazy mediocre, retreads who couldn't make it in the real world.

Tip from someone who has been there: You've got to find good professors. The best way to do that is to talk with graduating seniors who have gone through 40 classes. Ask them: who were you're very best professors? Then, take some time during the semester and sit in on their classes for awhile. The drop add period doesn't give you enough time to assess quality and student assessments don't ask the right kind of questions. There is NO QUALITY control: you have to actively do it yourself. If you can find 10 high quality professors you can can follow them along in subsequent semesters, and have at least half of your forty classes of high quality.

I hated college. I found 3 really good professors using the happenstance method that most students use--one of the three was in second semester senior year! I wish I had figured out what I figured out later in graduate school.

About work: labor economists do surveys of work satisfaction. 40% of people who are in the workforce like what they do; the other 60% don't.

I haven't quite figured out how to help anyone in that area except for a book called "What Color is your Parachute."
