Hey Guys, I just signed up for Myspace after almost all of my friends co-workers told me I should. I mostly did it because I want to keep up with all of my friends who live in various places, and who knows....maybe I'll meet some cool people.

Regardless, I almost immediately got this message from some girl that actually lives in a small town near where I live....but I'm assuming it's spam, because I don't even have anything information on my profile. (I literally just created an account and added 2 friends). This person also doesn't have any friends yet...so even though she's supposedly using her "Friends" account...it's been newly created too, because Tom is her only friend, LOL.
SO I'm assuming it's Spam, but I just wanted to see if that's a typical msg you get when signing up for Myspace.

"I am always being told about "myspace this"... "my space that". I am told that this is the "hang out My friends are on it all the time, but I just never got into it. I will admit it, it is actually kinda neat. I'm on my friends account right now, but I think I'll sign up soon. Here is my email though, just in case I have second thoughts. her_email at yahoo.

Anyways, when I saw your profile, I thought it was interesting. It seems as though we have more then a few things in common with each other. So, here I am saying hello. My friend is telling me that I am writing too much for the first "little note", lol. I don..t want you thinking that I am weird or anything, so I will just write again at another time. I'll just reply to your message, if you write Anyways, email me sometime. Bye for now"

Does she have any links to a "naughty site" or "naughty pictures" online anywhere in her profile? If so "she" is a pornbot and will probably be gone within 24 hours or so anyway.

No, she doesn't have anything linking to a Naughty SITE or any pics. If that were the case, it would be pretty obvious.

My friend at work saw the part about her saying "I'm just on a friends account and I'm not sure if I want to do Myspace" and Immediately told me to delete the email and block her. He said she is fake and could a be a "fisher" who will screw with/spam my account and everyone on my friends list as well.

Anyways, here is a link to her profile...or the friend's profile she is using.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=268057019

It seems pretty normal, except for the fact that she immediately changed her actual location

Yeah it's probably spam.... but reply if you want.. How can they get his email address from replying on myspace? Doesn't myspace hide that information?

Its diff spam. You can tell cuz when you try and look into the pics it ask you for your log in info again meaning your account will get jacked.

Really? It didn't ask me for that...but there is only one photo there. Also, what do you mean my account will get jacked? Will it get even more spam than the default amount you get when you sign up to myspace?

Anyways, I think this is an actual person behind this email collector and distributor for two reasons
1. The location changed from being really close to me in Ohio...to somewhere in Texas! Probably to match the location of another new Myspace subscriber.

2. She said we have a few things in common...but my profile has nothing on it about me...so how can know we have something in common?

So, yeah...she's getting deleted and blocked.

Actually, I got a similar note about 6 months ago. And it even had the similar line "I saw your profile, and I thought you seemed interesting, and maybe even a little cute ;). " yes, with no link to anything dirty. And I deleted it without responding.

SPAM!

Go into your membership options and change it where someone has to enter the squiggily letters for verification before sending a friend request. This will cut out a lot of the spam friend requests, at least until they find a way to defeat it. Now all of the friends requests I get are from porcine single mommies.
