Darwin has proscriptions for the feeble-minded ...
I am from Houston, TX and have a concern regarding child support. My fiance was previously married to a woman with two children (from two different men) that he adopted when they first married. He has been divorced now since 1998 and has been paying child support to the two children (we no longer see them because their mother has since remarried).
My fiance and I are going to be married in Feb/2001 and are starting to discuss having a family, but would like to know if there is any way that the child support can be reversed in this case. I know that the law's first concern is to protect the children, but my fiance and I want to start our own family also, and give them the best we can. Is there anything that can be done? Will we waste our time if we consult a lawyer?
So this heel adopts his single mommy wife's kids, and after they divorce, he still has to pay child support, so much so that he can't afford to support any of new kids.Regardless if those children are biologically his or not, he has adopted them therefore making them "his" children. He is financially responsible for them. Your "soon to be family" will not affect his prior/first obligation to his children. The only way out of the child support, would be if the Mothers "new" husband will adopt them. And depending upon their ages, it is kind of sad that these children have *lost* now 2 Fathers. Your husband is not obligated to be a "father" to them if he chooses not to, but he is obligated to financially support them for many years to come. If you cannot afford to support the first 2 combined with another addition, you should rethink having a child. The first 2 come first.
