So me and my wing have been doing some shopping here in LA the past couple days. In general I noticed people here have WAY more style than in the midwest. Even though I brought my "best" clothing, I still feel rather underdressed in most cases. This is really making me re-evaluate my own wardrobe. Back home when we go sarging I'd wear some normal jeans & a tshirt and still look better than most of the guys there, style-wise. I'd say I'd be in the top 25% on a normal day back home. Here I'm like in the bottom 10%. As far as looks/physical build go I'm definitely in the top 5% back home, here maybe in the top 25% for looks, top 10% for build. There are some damn good looking people here!
Anyway, now that I dropped a bunch of $$ on some better tshirts (still form fitting to show off my body, but with more of a designer touch) and some shoes, I realize my purchases here blow my current wardrobe out of the water. Then again, very few people in the midwest dress like those here in LA. Now that we're even better equipped and looking our best (or at the very least much better than usual), I wonder if there's such a thing as overdressing, or if you should always look your best. I realize there are some things you wouldn't wear because it would be over the top (wouldn't wear a suit you'd be seen with in a hollywood night club to a hole-in-the-wall bar), but in general, what are your thoughts?
I'm excited to head out with my new gear; not only is it a confidence booster but I know we'll look even better, possibly the BEST at the spots we hit. So how does your gear affect your game? Do you accessorize (beyond a watch per se)?
