I trained like @LARaiders85 says for like 10 years and for two years I also trained MMA meanwhile, all that as a natural.

It can be done easily as long as night sleep and nutrition match the new demand.

When I was 32 I trained MMA 6 days a week and lifted heavy stuff 3 times a week in the early evening even with heavy lifts for bench and dead lift and high volume for ancillaries.

Of course I was not ripped but size, strenght and energy levels were top.

I guess the traditional bodybuilding split is not as common these days, that people would act like its Martian or something?

Seems like bro splits are in vogue. Lots of guys also doing PPL.

Full body with compounds 2-3x a week is plenty especially for a noobie.

Ya, lots of food, sleep, and some of it genetics helps I’m sure.

The issue with full bodie workouts is that they dont allow the trainee to do some isolation on aesthetics muscles like side/back delts and biceps.

Yeah those muscles are stimulated through compound movements but military presses and pull ups wont make them big and round.

In my case people think that Im big only cause I have very developed and full delts/arms, if it wasnt for them I would look like a normal guy in decent shape.

Warning!

Do not subscribe to The SoSuave Newsletter unless you are already a chick magnet!

The information in each issue of The SoSuave Newsletter is too powerful for most guys to handle. If you are an ordinary guy, it is not for you. It is meant for the elite few. Not the unwashed masses.

If you know you can handle it...

But if you're just an average Joe, an ordinary guy, no one special – then skip this. It is not for you.

You can still hit delts, arms on a full body day. If you add in calisthenics and bar work your hitting them too. I've got decent delts from all the weighted calisthenics and adding 3 sets to failure of lateral raises at the end of a full body. That said, after a while the gains slowed down and I needed to isolate more which is why im doing an upper lower split now. Depends on where op is at to see those noobie gains

What makes those aesthetic muscles? How are they not trained from deadlifts, chin ups, and rows?
Do you feel your biceps working on chin ups as much as biceps curls? side delts with military presses or back delts with rows?

Everyone is made differently but for most people side delts and tris need direct work to get full.

I recall my triceps being on fire when I started bench pressing as a teenager but at some point they simply became a supporting muscle for chest doing all the job there.

Yes. Weighted chins put my biceps on fire. Although I never feel back delts directly, I can certainly tell just by looking at someone if they can deadlift heavy or not.
**** yeah, Weighted chins are more bicep then back. My gymnast buddy refers to them as the 'arm cruncher' if you get that reference.

how many pull ups can you all do who are super ripped without it being weighted?? Is there a number to strive for?

Most people do not do pull ups correctly period.

Start from dead hang, Arms shoulder width apart, Chin over the bar, squeeze your traps/lats at the top and keep your core activated. No rounding and no kipping. If you can do one of those you're already 'relatively' stronger then a lot of people. If you can do ten of those with proper form start adding weight, that is good.

Calisthenics are hard to gauge given the whole relative strength vs absolute strength dynamic. I can do 16 consecutive pulls with a 25 lb plate between my legs, but that is my absolute max and i'm fried after that. Greasing the groove got me there and now i'm working on muscle ups and my planche. That said I am very lean and naturally leaned towards calisthenics training. A guy way bigger then me might not be able to do more than one proper form pull up, but he could pick my a** up and throw me like its nothing. It's all relative to your body composition and weight. Big dude will outlift me everywhere, but in bodyweights lean and mean is king.

What are you benching, squatting, dl? What's your weight and height?
