Of course it's possible. However if you're 6' and 150lbs then you shouldn't be worrying about fat gain as putting on a few lbs of fat will be hardly noticeable in that case and you'll be just holding your gains back. The most efficient way to gain strength and size is to eat enough that fat gains come with the muscle, since fat is leverage and leverage is important when your squat, deadlift and bench go up to 500, 600, 700lbs and beyond.. or at least that's what I tell myself.
I don't agree in keeping fats low when trying to grow without getting fat. Carbs are much more likely to get you fat unless you have a very fast metabolism. Fats are potentially more anabolic than carbs anyway, since you can eat more fats than carbs without gaining excess fat and it's calories that are anabolic. Fats regulate the production of hormones including most significantly testosterone and growth hormone. What's more, if you eat a lot of dietary fat, your body becomes much more efficient at using its own bodyfat for fuel (whereas on a high carb diet, it uses carbs for fuel and spares bodyfat) and so it's more likely to mop up caloric excesses that way.
Save your carbs for before and after the workout to take advantage of insulin and the anti-catabolic effect. Most people would be well served with a carb day or two as well, which is one day when carbs are high and fat and protein is moderate. You can cheat this day if you want, but remember too much cheating and/or too many carbs on this day will lead to fat gains.
Do lots of low impact cardio (plus the odd sled/sprint session if you want), drink lots of green tea or take lots of green tea pills, lots of water, lots of green vegetables - all this well help keep your metabolism running hot along with the usual high protein. Think of your body as a furnace and the hotter the furnace burns, the more likely it is to burn up (body)fat.
The usual 'bulk' diet is something like 3000-3500 calories, moderate protein, high carbs, low fat, no cardio. That's a surefire recipe for fat gain in most (especially drugfree) people. But eating high protein and fat, with targeted hits of carbs plus cardio, green tea, high activity levels and any other ways you want to use to keep your metabolism up, you can intake 4000-5000 calories a day and not get fat. Hell you might even get a bit leaner especially if you haven't eaten this way before. The higher calories will lead to faster strength gains and much better recovery rates (cardio will help recovery as well) so the faster creation of active tissue (muscle) - you can't lose either way.
The only difficulty is eating enough and being disciplined with your cardio, and not pigging out on junk when you have carb days. Protein powder with olive oil / raw eggs will help, make a big jug and sip it between meals. But this is probably the best way to gain size without getting fat.
Finally - if you're a skinny guy who freaks out when his abs blur, and yet you want to gain significant muscle, then change your attitude. Eating enough to gain will have you looking bloated and pregnant a lot of the time, which lots of people mistake for fat (when it's just food + water).. cue back on the treadmill for long jogs and an egg whites/ricecakes diet and back to square one..
