Is it OK to send your best friend for investigation?

So this girl right, she's nice I like her but my best friend is close to her and they're quite good friends.
Do you think I should let him investigate for me and make it sounds very subtle and lowkey?

I need your opinions gentlemen, he said he's pretty good at it and I believe him but is it the move to make him ask if she's into me or if I have a chance?

It's a bit high school. If she figures out what's happening, she'll probably think you're a little wimp. Might not ruin your chances but it could definitely hurt them. That said, if she's part of your social circle it'd be nice to keep it all under the radar in case she's not interested. If you think your friend is competent (and you should google the Dunning Kruger effect before deciding) and that asking her out and getting rejected by her could make things awkward in your social group, I guess it'd be alright to get your friend to do a little digging.

You really should just be approaching other women and figuring this stuff out for yourself though.

If you get coffee with the girl, you'll get to know her straight away and cut out any chance of your friend f*cking it up in some way.

If she says no to hanging out you have your answer straight away, if she says yes you can start it off slowly testing the waters and then escalate to asking her out for a proper date (drinks).

There is actually nothing to fear. You didn't have a date with her before and even if she rejected, you still won't have a date. So nothing actually changes.
