"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Canada seems to think so:

From the comment section you'd think she won the race, a complete let down to the entire country, yet 'spencer' is lauded as a hero. Why are people so afraid of calling out other people?? If everyone wins all the time, the games become boring. I think this is just more generation special snowflake shining through. Would the reaction be the same for a man who places dead last? I highly doubt it.

She makes front page while in the men's competition Canada comes in third and you have to dig the story out yourself.

Didnt you know these women are strong and empowered and can do anything a man can do? That is big news.

Watching the US-broadcasted Olympics makes you think the entire thing is figure skating and women's sports.

Its ok to be a loser if you are a woman no doubt about it. The most important thing is that "you gave it your best". You get sympathy left and right.

Men on the other hand...just wait and see the outcry that will happen if the Canadian mens icehockey team does not get the gold medal.
