I was reading a recent thread that discussed the famous "rat utopia" experiment, and it got me thinking about how in the experiment the bachelor rats that basically went MGTOW (or would it be RGTOW, LOL) and had determined that the social situation was such that it wasn't worth getting into the mating game, and became the "beautiful ones" because all they did all day was clean themselves (i.e., by licking, which is their behavior for cleaning). It seems that - whether through choice or as imposed on them - bachelor men that get into that situation, they spend their time "cleaning" themselves by devoting their excess economic output into savings instead of supporting a family, thereby building up a retirement nest egg at a much higher rate than their family men cohort, and then are able to satisfactorily live off a much lower nest egg (i.e., because of the much lower demands on financial resources), so they retire (or still work, but a much more leisurely pace, or a in a field that has less renumeration, but is more enjoyable, etc.) at a much earlier age. And I suppose that this could also apply to a married man that has the atypical wife that feels the same way - as opposed to nagging him to make more money even though they really don't need it - whether childless or not (although the latter case would still have some resources devoted to supporting the children, just not as much as in the typical case).

This is the thread for those who missed it http://www.sosuave.net/forum/threads/the-rat-colony.248369/

Regarding your point, you're correct and lets not forget that they were the "beautiful ones" not only because of the cleaning but also because not being involved in violence allowed them to stay unharmed, no blood or scars either.

So not only they had more time to care about themselves but they also had much less sh1t to deal with.

They basically dropped any involvment with females which on the other side were showing aggressive behaviour overall, at that point even alpha males dropped the protection of the females and left them.

In that experiment apparently the mgtow (mices going their own way) came up in a better conditions than females and other submales.
