i guess it all depends on the woman and the situation. Probably save those gestures for a LTRs or special occasions. I once gave some to a woman who had a family member that died and she asked why? Why? She later gave them to another woman that loved them. Needless to say, I haven’t given her anything thoughtful after that. I think women like to use them as a flex, especially on Valentine’s Day. I’d didn’t buy any this year and heard some grumblings because my wife’s friend posted her’s on social media.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
