"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Is getting married a bad idea?

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Expo's 20 Point Marriage Primer

1. You should have dated at least 2 years or more prior to proposing. Women can hide their red flags for that long, and then pull the mask off, revealing their real personality once the ring is on the finger.

2. You should be engaged a year or more prior to tying the knot - and living together. She needs a final test run before she gets your last name.

3. You also should be married more than 3 years before trying to have kids. Nothing worse than bringing life into this world with someone you might grow to hate a year after the wedding is over.

4. You should be over 30 when you tie the knot. There is too much tail to chase in your 20’s to settle down.

5. Don’t marry a fat woman. If she’s lazy with her body, she’s also going to be lazy in other parts of her life, most notably her marriage to you.

6. Don’t marry a divorced woman. Ever. She has proven herself not capable of making a “till death to us part” commitment work in the past. You can, however, be given a free pass if she's widowed.

7. Don’t marry a woman with kids. No need to explain this one.

8. Don’t marry (let alone date) someone you work with.

9. If you are rich (making over $100K per year) get a goddamn prenup.

10. Don't marry a woman under 23 (she's too young), don't marry a woman over 43 (she's too old).

11. Watch how her mother treats her father. This is how she is going to treat you. Don't like it? Are they Divorced? Run!

12. Watch how her father treats your future wife. Bad relationship? Run!

13. Does all she talk about is big weddings, big diamond engagement rings, big houses, and other surface/material things? Run!

14. Does she not have a real job? Run!

15. Has she dealt with depression at some point in her life? Run!

16. Does she take any mood stabilizing drugs? Run!

17. Has she cheated on past boyfriends? Run!

18. Does she do drugs and can drink you under the table? Run!

19. Does she have no real friends? Run!

20. Most importantly - Don't ever marry woman who tries to control you or change you.
Very, very insightful. What if the man isn't wealthy yet but on the path to being wealthy, should he still get a prenup?

That's false. I got married to a virgin girl, didn't work out.
He said fighting chance. Not a sure cure.

I myself planned to get married knowing full well the risks in doing so and knowing just how women are. First off, we're signing a prenup. Second, knowing much better how women are, I know how to treat them and how to treat myself because of them, so handling a wife shouldn't become an issue. I do this to leave on my legacy. To have stories told about just how great I am  . In all seriousness, I just want to have kids of my own though. By raising them the right way and know that I actually contributed to society by not having children who are fvck ups and dumb sh!ts. Just knowing that at least some kids were raised the right way.

Parents have started pressure.
As Bingo-Player notes, wise men have always said "Can I give you some advice? Don't get married". They say this at the family wedding if you are paying attention.

Women are not only a depreciating asset, and they are not only ruthless toward men they are not attracted to, but attraction itself is a fleeting intangible that can vanish in an instant. You will lose your attraction to her (often within weeks), and she will lose hers to you, and then she will want to remind you that other men find her attractive. A guy who never met her will always find her hotter than you do, after 2 years. You can't keep them happy because you legitimately don't love them as much as some stranger.

I dated a girl for 6 months, and went to the men's room, and when I came back some guy was hitting on her, and although she never saw him again (we were out of state and were already leaving), that moment destroyed our relationship. Not instantly, but it was the beginning of the end.

Meanwhile, if you settle for one girl, you will miss all the other opportunities, which I have to assume are equally frequent throughout our lives.

See Gone Girl. Look at her moping face when he moves away to take care of his mom. See what she does because he kisses someone.

A woman recently cut off a man's penis and then when the doctors reattached it, she broke into the hospital and cut it off again, destroying it the second time. This woman promised him she would love him forever.

Of course not! Marriage is a tradition that has been going on for centuries and it's very important

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Looks like your mother took care of that. :moon:

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

A bastard, yes. Bastard kid? Guess that depends on how old you are. FYI you will get a lot more respect around here if you show your age. Maybe even enough so you don't have to hide your rep too

Well.. I don't think western women need alimony since they have jobs. But countries like Congo, Pakistan, indis, and Afghanistan... Women really need it since they can't have jobs n men treat them like crap

I'm married... Spent about 5 years of my 20 with her totally miserable. Turned it around... Kids are older... Glad we stuck it out through the tough times. Things are today almost like they were when we began dating in grade 10-11.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Marriage has no bases? Its a stupid tradition.....like saying grace before eating a meal or knocking on wood. Its a made up construct that society subtlety forces people to be in. Remember it is not a MUST FACTOR in life, its a stupid archaic tradition, nothing more nothing less......

You know what’s really funny

All the divorced guys who got married in their early 20’s thinking it was the best thing since sliced bread 15 years later and the illusion has evaporated she’s 15 stone heavier with a face like a bulldog and an attitude to match

I see all these guys in my gym and the sad thing is it’s like they have just been released from a life sentence , every single one of them tells me it cost an absolute fortune to get rid of her in divorce but a price he is willing to pay 5x times over

The man invests everything he has on this earth into “marriage” including his freedom

What is the return on his capital investment ?

Children ? .......can’t really think of much else

Now that is one hell of a heavy price to pay for kids and i don’t know if i can do it

“lifelong companionship” is the biggest lie that’s ever been told

In reality you have 2 people glued together by society’s confines too scared to break free

They are told what to like and when to like it , what to buy and when to buy it

Gives me shivers

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
