Is 5'8 short for a male these days?

Because I always see people mention with their preferences I want a guy that is at least 5'10. Isn't 5'9 average?

No bashing in this thread please. For instance when i look at myself in photos or in the mirror, i look a bit short. Yet how do woman who are like 5'4 may think a guy who's 5'8 be short? I mean since I am 5'8 and if i see a guy whos 5'11 he definitely looks tall.

Girls tend to like taller guys because they feel safer with them. Its part of a woman's instincts to choose a mate that will protect them. Being taller or more muscular helps with being perceived as a protector. So if you're shorter, you have to show in other ways that you can protect her. This doesn't mean you need to pick fights and stuff to prove your manhood, but doing other things to make up for it.
Basically height isn't going to be the determining factor in attraction, you might just have to work a little bit harder than a 6 foot guy.

Yeh! Is any of you guys able to link something of this post to TESTOSTERONE? Testosteroned males don't think like wusses and thus women COMPETE for them. Tall can translate to dominant but testosterone always tranlsates to dominant!

If you believe that height is all important and that you're doomed because of your height... You're going to be insecure. And women are NOT attracted to wussies, period!!

A confident men, who thinks, knows and acts like he's the ****, doesn't matter about his height! Why should he? He's better then the other guys in some way!

Most of the guys are AFC's. I am really tall and when I was a socially insecure AFC I couldn't get any chick at all! The AMOG of my group is not tall and he gets women VERY EASILY. And I used to be very beta and most of the guys in my group were shorter then I was.

The only difference is that now I changed the way I THINK. Insecurities are insecurities, and a healthy MAN that women are looking for has confidence. Because he does something useful with his time (turn of your pc man!) and his life has some real value.

The idea that height is tremendously important has to get out of your AFC head. You don't deserve women if you let something like that get you down. Physical qualities don't make a Great man. EOD ! Go do something manly insetad of complaining, chump! I got no respect for people with the victim mindset (stop blaming whatever it is for your lack of sucess wimp!) and they don't deserve any either.

I'm Asian, 5'7", and I don't even think about it.

I'm only 5'6". It doesn't matter. Maybe you're attracted to women taller than you. For me I'm naturally attracted to females around 5'0" to 5'5". Around these heights, women are just beautifully stunning from head to toe.

As long as you're at least an inch taller they won't complain. You'll hear chicks say they want a gay taller than them with great body etc. That's not the majority. Most women actually don't care as long as you're not a midget compare to them.

For me 5'8 is fine and I tend to gravitate towards tall guys. I think you should start to worry when your like 5'6. 5'7 is like eh, but still passes depending on the guys qualities.
