"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Some books on investment, so you don't ask questions like that.

Your only real options are stocks/options/bonds.

How is that his only real option?

I turned a few thousand into a profitable venture generating that much profit every couple months.

I recently talked to a local business owner who operates an indoor go kart/paintball/video game place that is offering partnership type packages for as little as $1000. Benefits included unlimited use of the facilities and more then likely doubling that as a return or reinvestment in 8-12 months.

I'm considering buying in. Lawyers are ironing out the details.

My point is there are other options out there. If your interested investing in a small business for a share search local area forums, and/or talk to others in your area.

Loans are harder to come by these days and many small business owners are looking for partners and investors.

Just make sure you have everything in a legally binding contract.

Personally I'd buy up a bit of the market as its down right now, precious metals, and look at Vanguard's Roth IRA as a start to a retirement fund. Always keep some cash in an account for emergencies as well

Not a bad idea. Seems like a profitable venture if you monitor and obey laws.

College towns are excellent locations!

Our homecoming weekend one of our four liquor stores pulled in 30K in revenue. Not a very large town either

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I wouldn't write off the stock market entirely; 2008 was a bizarre year, and crises on this scale are very rare. This was a perfect storm.

I say what you should do depends on your skill as an investor...you're in the right direction by asking around. Investopedia is a really good resource. If you're not sure what to do yet, at the very least get a certificate of deposit or something to park your money in until you can plan out a portfolio.

mpimpin was talking about entrepreneurial investments, and these really can turn out some huge money. Keep in mind though that there is no such thing as a risk-free investment (except for US government treasury bonds, because worst case scenario the government can just print money to pay its debt off Zimbabwe style). Always do your research, and there are lots of opportunities out there that aren't just in the financial markets, but I wouldn't write off the financial markets entirely because of this year's crisis. In fact, there are a lot of solid companies out there that have had their share prices beaten up just because they've gotten taken down with the herd (hedge funds and mutual funds all selling at once) and not because anything fundamentally changed in their company for the worse. Probably 6-12 months out, these stocks are going to go back up, and maybe fast if the hedge funds and mutual funds all get back in quickly.

I know someone who bought a few vending machines, and claims to make two grand a month part time, going around every few days and stocking them, and collecting money. I was looking into it myself, but I dont have the capital to get started. Something thats taking off right now is energy drink vending machines.

lol, like that WutangFinancial kid, who was about to start his own hedge fund, then got offered a prop job, then got offered several prop jobs, but had absolutely NO CLUE about making money trading.

The markets aren't going back to where they were in a LONG LONG time.

If companies like GM and Citi go down, there are going to be MASSIVE ramifications.

Global crisis? You bet ya!

Actually, the vending machine example above is viable.

Too bad you want to exclude the stock market... buying some broad-market ETFs might not be a bad way to "buy low." Our economy has to recover eventually, it's just a matter of when.

To address non-stock market investments:

I've done well with an investment vehicle called "Apple Hospitality" REITS, which are a proprietary investment from David Lerner.
They DO NOT borrow funds from banks, etc. They pool investors' money and purchase (and then manage) extended-stay hotels, which have traditionally higher occupancy rates than traditional transient hotels.
They claim to pay out 8% a year... so far, I've never received less than that - in fact one program raised their rate to 8.2%. There doesn't seem to be much risk to principal - if their properties don't do well, they just lower the rate of return.
As a bonus, they liquidate the properties after a few years and the investors receive a distribution from the liquidation, which raises the total return even higher.
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket - diversify. But so far, the Apple Hospitality program(s) have returned well for me.

2009 might be a good year for buying shares at low prices. Although i'm not doing anything yet (just thinking about it) just in case things get worse than what they already are. :D

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

10k won't make you much in the market even if you do well. A 20% return will be 2 grand. So what.

But put that 10k into the right business and it will make you that much a month down the road. Nothing returns profits on nothing like starting a venture of some sort.

Go for something that always does well but might be under-served. Pizza. Sex. Guns. Drugs. Gambling. Cigarettes. Candy. That shlt always sells. Stick with whatever is legal and find a slightly new angle to serve it up and you are golden.

For example, in middle school I sold candy between classes. My markup was 100%. I bought it for $1 and sold it for $2. I was loaded and it wasn't illegal. I just had to give some freebies to the right friends to keep off the thugs. Real life is just like middle school. Good luck.
