Is it better to be 'Away', or 'Offline'?

Seems like one hell of a paradox to me

I'm usually "away" unless it's someone I really want to talk to.

If I'm online, I'm usually away, and i only talk to people I want to talk to. I have an alert message 4 all those people. If I'm busy though, I dont talk to them. Sometimes I dont even bother being online.

If you're using aim or the internet to meet girls, just use caution....

Its better to be away.

That way people know your alive. Plus you can leave funny messages.

Just make sure there not something stupid like the main message. "I am currently away from the computer" Boring ****

i just block all the girls and unblock them when i feel like talking to them.

Personally I think it's just a waste of bandwidth to leave away messages on for hours at a time. But that is just my opinion. Also a good place for funny away messages is www.gonebuddy.com.

i leave an away message when i am going to use the computer but i sign off if i want to turn off the computer.

Oh!! this is one hell of a paradox, I don't know, dayum!! this is tough.

Maybe if you didn't spend your whole day on the net, you wouldn't be wondering whether you should pretend to be "away" or pretend to be "offline".

My status is always "online", but then again, I only get on the net for half an hour a day, I don't need to fake anything.

If you must know, I have a computer related business, it requires it.

Regardless I find alot of people set theres to Away. Which, I think I'll stick with.

face to face is better than phone is better than aim... do whatever you can... phone number should be easy...

The new AOL instant messenger has a new feature I think. One that makes you "invisible". Meaning people can't see you on their buddy list, but you are online and able to talk to others...

I guess this would be another option aside from being offline or away.
