OK the only reason to use an IM is when a chic is reluctant to hand out her phone number from a email enticement. Some dames play hard to get, so go for the less hostile form of communication and get their IM name.

I usually use IM to set up meets without ever talking on the phone. I also sometimes just exchange a few emails before meeting. You don't need to talk on the phone, although it is nice to hear a voice if you're kinda inexperienced at online and want to make sure.

Seems like you are trying a bit too hard to calibrate the girl. STOP. Even the teasing stuff can be try-hard. Better to tease if she is bringing it on herself (most girls do), so don't force it.

Women can indeed sense a hidden agenda (and men too). So stop trying so hard to calibrate according to what you THINK women will best respond to.

You can talk about anything on the call. But I agree with not feeling the need to wait a few days. It really depends on you.
