Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

Some background on the woman who drove me to Sosuave back in 2001... She was 15 when I started dating her. She's currently 33 years old, one kid, unmarried, jobless, and living with her sister. She's also on my Facebook.

I'm not quite sure how I got into the practice of getting my revenge on her. Now mind you, this isn't no "I slashed her tires" or "I told her mom she gave me herpes" revenge. This is revenge through attraction. After she ended the relationship, I was afraid of having an encounter with her because she held all the power.

Now I simply don't give a fvck.

Now she sees me as the prize.

When the relationship ended, she told me she wanted to "still be friends". At that point in my life, I was not in a position where I could "just be friends" with her. Now here we are 13 years later, and I'm perfectly capable of having a platonic friendship with her. I have younger, more attractive women interested in me, so now it becomes easy.

Earlier this year, we started hanging out. I saw it as "just friends", but I teased her far more intensely than any of the women I was dating. She seems to like going for the jerks, so I just gave her some of what she likes. That's what friends do, right? Give the other person things they like.

She was quite obviously wanting to ask me back out. I saw the cue, and I ignored it. If she wanted a shot at getting back together, she would have to bring up the subject. I had my response prepared which was something along the lines of "Sorry, but I'm kinda seeing someone right now".

She never asked, so I never got to reject her. A few days later, me and one of the other women I was seeing became exclusive. Of course, my Facebook status changed to reflect it.

I had a few of her things that needed to be dropped off at her place, one of them being her kid's car seat. I asked her when I could bring it back. After all, good friends return their things to them! She told me to keep the car seat.

What a great friend! Now I have a seat to transport my new gf's kid :)

Earlier today, I posted the link to the article in this thread:

She quickly responded with this:

you should talk
She quickly deleted her comment. Sounds like she's having a bad day. :( A good friend will become concerned and find out why!

So I sent her a message asking her what's wrong. Here's how that convo went:

Her: you're a hypocrite lol
Me: And how is that?
Her: you should know by now that cheaters cheat
Me: Umm... What on earth are you implying?
Her: that you do the same
Me: Care to explain?
Her: not really, i'm tired of seeing your hypocritical whining
Me: Okay, have a happy thanksgiving :)

It seems she's becoming a bitter, jaded old woman. Why??? All I'm doing is giving her what she wanted... FRIENDSHIP!

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
