You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?
Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.
One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.
Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
Man you have a lot to learn.evansblue said:You guys really need to stop with this "Sh1t test" thing. Seriously, it's getting old and doesn't even accurately describe most situations, this one included.
It sounds like the girl is trying to be playful. Even if she isn't, why not respond back with "How bratty are we talking?"
Saying something like "no, I won't tolerate bratty behavior." would be a very awkward response.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
"Sure thing, sweetheart! Just do me a favor. Wait until I drop you off at home, cool?"Fela Kuti said:"I'm in a bad mood right now so I might act bratty. May I?"
She's testing him to see if he would put up with her BS. Go ahead and try and demean me with your feminist integrated no balls mindset the US enforces on the youth of today; using "nerd" like it’s a bad thing is so juvenile... go ahead and say it all you want as I know it’s not your fault you were brainwashed to thinking guys are suppose to put up with this "playful" attitude as you put it when in reality it’s a girl pushing boundaries to see how far she can push him to know how much control she can have.evansblue said:How do I have a lot to learn?
I don't have to announce to every single girl that I'm not going to put up with a "sh1t test". You're probably one of those nerds who's been brainwashed into thinking that girls are walking all over you, if when they aren't. It's been ingrained in your mind for so long you've probably lost all touch with reality. Guys like that naturally take a defensive position when interacting with women and it's very obvious.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
This is a good way to **** this situation up. It is not good to 'tolerate bratty behaviour', but equally bad to reveal that you are trying too hard. Doing neither of these things is a good decision.Zodiac said:She's testing him to see if he would put up with her BS. Also I'd love for you to point out where I'm being "defensive." Only one that is defensive here seems to be you with your calling people "nerds" and "out of touch with reality" when in fact it really seems to not be the case on my end considering the vein of info on this site. Someone else however... an easier case can be made.
I have a question to you if you care to answer me; were you brought up in a matriarchal household, taught by mostly female teachers or dated a woman that called the shots in your relationships? Judging by your post a case can be made…. and it sounds like you need to get some ointment for those whip marks from the p***y that girl/woman used on you to have this mindset of thinking this should be tolerated. Why should a Man tolerate childish behavior? Why shouldn't a Man be able to enjoy a life not filled with this kind of testing?
Please do yourself and everyone a favor and wake up from your indoctrination into acceptance of how woman "should be" by those overbearing women in your life. I was like you once and then life finally showed me reality when I hit the real world outside of my parent's home and the US. I toured the world for a few years and noticed how the US has some of the most anti-men laws on the books outside of the UK in my experiences and how women think they can walk on you/are entitled to stuff just because and you need to accept it since how else will you get the keys to a vagina?
Wake up man before its too late.

'No' is a nice playful response. Spanking threats is also good, unless you have been making too many jokes recently and are beginning to try too hard.
Dude, spare me the pseudo psychology. You're the prototypical poster boy for the unpopular kid in high school who got trampled by everyone, didn't get any play, and now you're hell-bent on proving something to these girls. Look at how much you overreacted in this situation with that text. The girl said she was being "bratty". Did you ever, for a moment, think she was possibly trying to be playful, or flirty? No. It never occurred to you. You're so used to be hurt, rejected and dismissed by girls you're trying to put on a front. I'm going out on a limb here (not a very long one) and going to say you're either a virgin, or you've had a couple close calls. Guys who get laid aren't worrying every two seconds if they're being sh!t tested. We don't care. Stop being so paranoid. Stop thinking everyone is out to get you. Go with the flow... go. with. the. flow.Zodiac said:She's testing him to see if he would put up with her BS. That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
