I'm bored with things in life

The main reason I've never or won't ask a girl for a date is because there isn't anything fun I can really think of doing together. Things I enjoy doing like videogames, movies, television, wouldn't be what most people(including me) would call real fun. Sure I could take a girl to a movie, amusment park, a few other places, but then what after that? I don't have a life, and I'm not sure how to "have a life".

What do people do you people do for fun? Besides anything illegal or involving drugs and/or alcohol.

It seems like I just don't know how to have fun.

My first SERIOUS crush from Middle School once told me when I was complaining about how bored I was, "You have to learn to make your own fun."

There have to be one or two things that you've said to yourself, "I'm going to have to learn to do this before I die."

Go do it. Now is the time. Stop lazing around.

hell man.....not everything you do has to be fun. I do a lot of crap and i dont consider them fun nor boring...its called life. Stop thinking about it so much.

Try to get some hobbies, work on your car, make some cash, buy nice things, hang out with friends, get some sort of a pet. I myself have an reef tank and a bad a$$ ****atiel. Also get drunk every now and then.....start lifting weights. Weights have done wonders for me and my life.

Dude, i totally feel you. I too am just a chill person. I go to a friend's house and we just sit there with the TV on and chill. If not we play some videogames and what not. Every once in a while we say something pertaining to something. We know each other very well so its cool. I'm only 19 by the way.

I go out with chicks every once in a while and yeah you can take them to movies and all that but then when you take them to the crib you wonder what you can do before the sex (if you're getting any)

I'm a pothead and that even gets tiring after doing it everyday multiple times. It just puts me in a better state of mind nowadays.

Bottom line, go out and do something before you hit depression from doing jacks--t at home.

Take drugs or alcohol if you have to. Theres no real reason not to do that at least a couple times in your life.

DAMNIT YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE.

The good news is that you didn't run out and start a relationship just to escape your boredom! You recognised it.. well done!

Life isn't meant to be always "fun" and "exciting".. there are times when you will be bored shytless.. but they will pass.

Remember: if you're bored and watching the clock, it means you're not answering the question.. "What do I wanna do with my life anyway???" and "Why am I here?"

Want something to do??

Go outside and dig a hole.. lay in the hole. Pretend you just died and got buried.

Now what would you do, if you were given your life back.. what do you wanna do with your life ?????

We can die at any time.. find your dreams and your passion in life and persue it.

If you dunno what it is, then start by finding it.

hmmm..I don't know about you but I think, talking to; making out with; and ****ing hot women is pretty FUN.

Meet an interesting women and you can go for coffee and have FUN. Most people have pretty ordinary lives. Go to night-clubs and dance. Have drinks with your friends. Play some sport. **** a HB . Go to work and earn enough money to buy you that car you want - That's life.

Everyone seems to think life must be FUN 24/7. I'm sorry, but even having too much fun would get boring.

Make friends, socialise with them. Go out with them. Play golf with them. Just live. IF you have a passion for something then make that your goal.

It's summer time so go out and have a small picknick or BBQ.
It very much depends where u live also. If u live in NY it shouldn't be that hard to entertain her. If u live in Montana, it could be more difficult.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm starting to change my views on life now. I realize I do have a lot to do, but I'm just neglecting most of the things I need to do to succeed in life. Things like my education, improving my social skills, and keeping in physical shape. So from now on whenever I feel like there isn't anything fun to do, I'll just find something to keep me busy.

Don't do drugs or alcohol. A DJ doesn't need a crutch to have fun, plus those who get addicted never plan to become a regular user, they just want to "try it once", not to mention find it harder to have fun unimpaired because there's always your drunk or high moments to compare it to.

BUMP to Legend's weightlifting suggestion. I used to be a videogames-only guy, and after starting weightlifting I got addicted to it and also got into other sports too. Lifting also raises your testosterone levels naturally, which makes you happier and less depressed.

Boredom...things to do

Hmmm, so I'm not the only one this has happened to.

The suggestions here are good. I would say as well get into some kind of exersize right out of bed in the AM; you'll likely be a lot more alert and notice more things to do.
If all else fails, just get the he** out of the house and walk around the neighborhood- or go somewhere new and just explore. You might just find something (or someone )interesting to do!

Side story: I was out with a girl, was discussing interests, and said that one of mine was walking thru new places and meeting people(and checking out the local talent, but I left out that part). She looks at me with a confused look on her face and says"Why?"
At that moment she rang my gut-alarm as incredibly shallow. Turned out later I was right,guess I should have listened...

Take a chick to the flea market. Go for a ride through the woods in your uncle's John Deere Gator, see how far you can make it down the train tracks and get scared to death when you have to bail! Take a girl for a ride in the mountains (or beach, whatever). Jump in a lake, go for a walk downtown.

Make some kind of dumb video with your camcorder, hell I don't know! I do know that staying away from TV and video games for a while will help you come up with fun stuff to do.

Ive been in similar situations ..I have alot of hobbies (writing, making web pages,, tennis, bike riding along the beach, rollerblade, heavybag hitting)

But sometimes I realize even with all those hobbies I still get bored doing it over and over..and most of my friends are deadbeats who go to work, come home and just do nothing)

SO sometimes I'll just go check out a new store..or check out thrift stores..

Do you guys have any suggestions on doing fun activities with others besides your friends?

p.s. the MOST IMPORTANT is drag yourself out of the house...its hard..but thats the first step
