"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Greetings DJ's.

Having been away from the boards for some time, I'm back.

I hope you're all doing well, and that the summer months will be full of hot parties, and hotter women.

Was seeing a great girl for the past 6 months. After having been with many women, this one has everything I've been looking for in looks and personality. An absolutely cool chick. Problem was that she sorta left her BF at the time (things had been going badly for many months so the relationship was over long before I got in the picture) and imediately we pretty much started dating.

Over the last little while, things changed. She was becoming cold, distant and the sex dropped to nil. (Once in the past month is not a very healthy relationship) We've been talking and she doesn't know what's wrong. She has no sex driive at all, and feels like she wants alot of space to breathe. ( I think it just comes down to her going from one relationship to another with no time to replenish herself emotionaly) Knowing that this has nothing to do with me, I just broke up with her. I'm not about to hang on like a chump waiting for something to change... I have too much pride for that.

This has to be the weirdest feeling ever. I am truly 100% crazy about this girl and I broke it off, knowing that taking the pain now will only get better in the long run, rather then stay in a relationship that is fvcked up and let it eat me alive.

I'm totally bummed out, right now and I'm having a real hard time bouncing back. It's really hard to look ahead at a summer where we had many plans to go on trips and such that now aren't gonna be happening.

I'm gonna be hitting the gym 6 days a week, and I'm gonna try and stop drinking as much. (I've been boozing alot, lately) It'll take some time but I'm gonna try and turn this around and make it a positive thing. Problem is dealing the feeling of loneliness that creeps in now and again. Luckily, in my line of work it does have it's benifits. (I'm a Singer/Songwriter/Producer so the writing gets alot easier haha)

How do you guys put positive spins on negative situations?

I guess the point of my post has nothing to do with how to get women (I have no problems in that area) I'm just looking for a good kick in the ass, or some words of encouragement to kickstart my single lifestyle that I've been living without for the past 6 months.

The breakup was not premeditated. I just did it without giving it much thought. One day we're cool the next we're done.

There's always a chance that she'll come around but I'm not gonna live my life with that idea in the back of my mind. I'll just keep pushing forward.

It'll be great, spending some time around here again.

Cheers,

The Bad Ass Canadian

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Perhaps you should change your perspective on this girl. I'll give you a quote that my friend uses all the time, and see if you think it applies to her: "Girls are like monkeys, they won't let go of one branch until they have a firm hold of another."

Over the last little while, things changed. She was becoming cold, distant and the sex dropped to nil. (Once in the past month is not a very healthy relationship)

To me it sounds like she is beginning to 'check out' of the relationship. It is good that you spotted this and took control of the situation by ending it on your terms (before she immediately jumped into a new relatonship).

Welcome back.

Breaking up is always hard, your feelings are normal (& mind you, you're handling it better than most would, & it takes a lot of balls to break up with someone you still feel for)

Knock her off that pedestal you have her on, only think negatively toward her

It's summer time for you, see this as a perfect opportunity to get back in the field

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

You won't see a lot of people having the balls to do this. Most of them sitck out to the end, by which point the relationship is as DEAD AS IT GETS. Not only that but they extend the "crappy feeling" for long time. This is a losson for all you juniors out there. If you see the end coming near, walk out with some pride, and cut it off imediatley, DON'T WAIT. The longer you wait, the harder it's gona be on you...

Thanx guys.

I definitely do have her on some sort of pedestal... not that I worship the ground she walks on. Far from that, but I do think the world of her. She is a great girl who treated me with alot of respect from the get go. I'm just keen enough to spot the problem and figure out thast it has nothing to do with me personally, and that staying with her will on make things worse for me. She just needs to work things out on her own terms. I'm not gonna sit around and wait.

Had a blast last night pubbing it with some really hot new aquaintances. I woke up this morning with a hangover and a fresh outlook on what's gonna go down this summer.

It took alot of balls to do what I did, but hey... if you knew me it wouldn't surprise you.

I hope this thread does serve as an example to the newcomers..... Walk away with your pride intact. Don't stay in something til it's completely dried up. You'll love yourself for it later, and the girl will have the utmost respect for you for being a man about it.
