Very good discussion.
She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.
You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.
The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
It wouldn't matter which sperm made it the egg, he'd have been born one way or the other when there's millions of them to choose from. If it had been another sperm, he might look different, and that's it. You're making it sound like only 1 sperm in the million is fertile.ElChoclo said:Look ChrisZ, the flying leprechaun has his plans for you. It was his (I know he is male) intention that you should exist like a microbe in this world. It was his intention that you be consigned to spend your time on earth typing "philosophical" questions into the internet vortex.
It would be better for you if you could just accept this, just as an amoeba has to accept its position in the universe. The lottery winner never spends time asking why me, only the person run over by the truck. It is because we are careless on roads that we are run over and because we buy tickets that we win lotteries.
Here, if you want some meaning, consider this. Out of the million sperm which your daddy blew into your mummy, the flying leprechaun chose you to be conceived. It met up with 23 chromosomes in your mummy's egg. Just try and work out all the possible permutations there are for that combination. The odds against you being you are so great that it could only have happened through the will of the flying leprechaun.
Pay homage to him each Friday, by wearing a green tie.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

VERY well put.Blahhh said:You could only say life is pointless if you knew everything. You don't know everything, so you can't say if there is a point to life or not.
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
