If you had a time machine and could go to any year in the past what year?

I would go to the late 70's. Something about the time, seems so carefree and nice. Before the internet and other distractions kept us home.

My friend Abdule was born in Somalia but had to spend most of his childhood in a refugee camp in Kenya because of the civil war, before he came here. He's gotten malaria numerous times and hasn't seen his dad since he was 2.
