I do believe that drinking helps in a way – it’s not just because it puts you in a certain frame of mind, but because it’s an acceptable social activity. If you are in a bar, hanging out with some friends and they are all having a drink – it’s pretty hard to be the one drinking a soda. And usually when I have a few drinks in me – I get a light buzz which makes me feel more ‘relaxed’.
On the other hand, if you drink too much you will lose control and it will affect your game. From my experience most of the girls that I have made out with in bars / clubs etc, when we were both too buzzed, never hooked up with me later on. I number closed most of them – but either they didn’t call me back, or I didn’t bother to call. One must maintain a certain equilibrium.
And one final note – a couple of months back I decided that I am staying clear of alcohol for a couple of weeks. I was in this club / lounge in town and asked the bartender for a bottle of water. There were a few hotties in the place and I was just standing there drinking water and surveying the battlefield - making some EC.
I sit down on the couch and one of the hotties that I was EC’ing (HB 8.5) comes and sits right next to me and starts to convo with me – asking me why I am drinking water…eventually we were kissing and stuff, and we were totally sober. I # closed her, but nothing happened, maybe because her girlfriend was there and she was visiting town. (So this might defeat my comment above – that if you stay sober, they’ll likely call back
).
So yes, it can be done - just have to go against the crowd - and in this case it was actually what made that girl approach me.
Overall, stay focused on your game, be confident and if you do start drinking, maintain the right equilibrium.
