Can you say a little more about NLP? I've heard about it a lot before but never really found out what it is completely about. From the website it just seems like a bunch of books and cds you can buy. If I were to do it how should I start out?

NLP (Neuro linguistic programming) is what the motivational speaker Tony Robbins use to inspire people. It's a 20 plus year old psychological concept of teaching your mind (or someone else's) a different/specific way to interpret what it sees in the 'mind's eye.'

NLP as a science is amazing, using to pick up chicks won't work because the woman will sense the manipulation that you are doing... sometimes a woman will go for it anyway, but probably no more then if you had a casual conversation as a pickup.

You shouldn't present what you don't know as fact. They almost never pick up on it.

Your right, I dont' know that for a fact...

The thing is that in the NLP books that I have read, it clearly states that you can create changes in people, but that most people will detect an ulterior motive and will reject or at least resent you for trying to manipulate them.

So, maybe you have your lines mastered to the point that you can make them come out as natural... but doesn't that really make the dating game less fun... I could really see NLP techniques to pick up women useful to give someone the confidence to approach, but it would be better used to try and manipulate your mind to get the results that you desire rather then picking apart conversations and creating scripts that will manipulate the womans mind into wanting to f uck, at least in my opinion.

I still think that looks, effort, and attitude being equal that someone using NLP and SS, compared to someone with good natural conversation skills will end up with the same results.

Two years ago I use to be an afc reading the posts on sosuave, then there was something about hypnoses on a particular post, it caught my attention because it mentioned that your behaviors can be changed in a matter of minutes, even seconds on a hypnoses session with a professional therapist (sorry my gramar mistakes- english is my 3rd language).

My life was total crap, had no dreams, no ambition, use to past the nights looking for porn on the net and masturbating, my college grades all Fs, I had no future on that path. Use to pay for sex (high risk of AIDS!!)

The DJ BIBLE motivated me to change my life, but it wasnt working for me 100%, I needed something more powerful, something to change my inner problems, not just another shot of motivation, like Anthony Robbins does (at least for me)

Motivated to change my life, I searched and found a hypnotherapist on home town; we began to change my paradigms and as a consequence my behaviours.

I had a few hypnosses sessions with him, and he also gives NLP courses (Practitioner and Master Practitioner) I did the Practitioner last year and learned a lot about human behavior, the way the mind works, how to improve, how to think in another way. And it does work on seducting women

It had a great impact on my life.

I agree with this 100%. I would like to add though, that although many parts of a seductive conversation might hold some unconcious NLP phrases, so due to the full-mind/psychological nature of NLP, there really is no way that you could compare someone using NLP conciously compared to an eloquent speaker without debate as to whether or not the eloquent speaker takes advantage of (on an unconscious, and unknowing way) NLP.

For your particular example, it seems to me that a good part of your success has come from being informed of these phrases that could be used, which raised your confidence, and increased your EFFORT to pick up chicks confidently.

Whether or not my theory is even remotely true, I cannot say, but I do feel that it is worth considering that NLP was the tool that gave you more success, whereas another could use the bible in such a way as to create an equivalent success, through equivalent trial, error, effort, developmet of confidence, and all other areas relative to seduction. Perhaps the NLP style was closer to your own natural style, creating more success... whereas the DJ bible was more of my style, as an example...

I'm not trying to knock NLP, but I just feel that the NLP won't give you an extra edge... necessarily.

NLP and detection

I have had an interest in "mind stuff" for about 10 years.. a main difference in hypnosis and NLP is that with self hypnosis you are changing your perception on a lower level. You are also changing only you.. you can't change anyone else anyhow.

I haven't attended any $2000+ NLP courses, though I have been through most of the info, and find NLP interesting, and helpful for aiding techniques such as empathy, communication and motivation.. but the bottom line i find is that NLP is rather like mowing the lawn.. the grass grows back. It also doesn't take a serious view of unconscious activity and forces. It attempts to movitate you based on pleasure/pain or reward/punishment.. which it maintains is the highest movitator for behaviour.. this may or may not be true.

Any claims that you can seduce or manipulate others with NLP's bag of tricks might be true.. if the other person has it in them to be deceived! But either way, they will know you are doing it on some level. The subconscious mind is infinitely smarter than any NLP tricks bag. Further, its obvious to yourself what you are doing, and you full well know if you attempting to manipulate someone or not.. this comes across on at least some level to others, no matter how good you are. Your success might then depend on whether the other person enjoys being maniplated or not.

NLP is cool and interesting, coming from studies into language, therapy, communication etc. but it can also add more unnecessary complexity to interractions.. when you're so concerned about whether or not you are mirroring right, modeling guru X, etc. etc. and the present moment can be completely missed. Its no longer a creative or authentic self.. but a controlled and artificial one, aimed at some "goal".
